There is also hope for the current youngest generation.. I pulled up beside an SUV at a light. Little guy, probably 8 or so said "I think its a Porsche Mom!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Don't you ever have to do any maintenance or something? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif)
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) The buyer of the '67 bug came by and paid the balance yesterday, but he can't take the car for another week. He has already purchased a complete rear clip and a driver-side rear 1/4 panel, and waiting for his body guy to clear some space in his shop (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Also, took delivery of some new brake lines from PMB, for my wife's car. (Thanks, Erc.) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I did nothing!
But can I tell you what I'm doing in the Morning? Flying to Knoxville to pick up the Sister of my old Truck - a 2000 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition, 20,xxx Miles, 1 Owner (recently Deceased) Garaged. The 2000 was the 1st Year of the Harley Trucks and was Unique in that it had a SuperCab & a Flareside Bed - 2001 & later were Supercrews & Slabside. It was recently named to an Edmond.com Top 25 Cars to Collect and was the Only Truck. They were only made in Canada (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) I traded my Old one for my 88 Diamond Jubilee Cab which I later Sold for $25k so that wasn't a Bad Deal at all. But I still wanted another. If you see me on I-75S (Knoxville, Chattanoga, Atlanta, Macon) Tomorrow, Beep! Here are Pics of my Old one |

i just wanted to start a thread to see what you guys do day to day on your cars. i'll start, about a month ago, i pulled my engine and trans to put in a new clutch. had the flywheel lightened and resurfaced. but what i didnt know is that i had to shim the little ball that the clutch arm rides on, after a resurfacing. so guess what i did today? yup, pulled the trans and put an extra washer under the ball. you have to goop up both washers to get it to seal because the threaded hole goes all the way thru to the inside of the trans. i also replaced the plastic cup that the ball rides in. the throwout bearing and its little plastic blocks were fine so i buttoned every thing back up. 5 hours total. i think this has been the cheapest repair yet on my car. $2.75 for the little plastic cup. what did you do to your 914 today? Hi : anybody out there know how to lower the front end? an inch or 2 would be great Another Question is there a site out there that sells some clips or fasteners to keep my throttle cable from burning on exhaust ? and fasten up other cables ? an after market fireproof throttle cable from Patrick motor sports was in stalled after I put in the 911 sc engine I kept the fuel injection. if anybody knows any of this pls let me know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Hi : anybody out there know how to lower the front end? an inch or 2 would be great It's not too tough of a job. Raise the front of the car enough to get to the front cross member and jack stand it. There are two adjusting screws where the control arms pivot on each side of the cross member. You don't need to turn them very much to achieve a 1" drop. 2" might be too much, depending on the current height of your car now. Sitting level with no driver or passenger is probably the best height to adjust to, so it doesn't drop much further when loaded. You may need to realign the front suspension after changing it ... almost a guarantee if you go 2". After adjusting, drop the car back down and drive it around the block, then check for settled drop and any rubbing issues, also check your level from side-to-side. Measure the height from ground to the bottom of your rocker sills or to the center of the wheel well openings. Repeat the procedure until you're satisfied. Again, you may want to have the alignment checked and adjusted by a pro shop. Check the Pelican forum (tech article section), I think there's a step-by-step procedure there (with pictures). QUOTE Another Question is there a site out there that sells some clips or fasteners to keep my throttle cable from burning on exhaust ? and fasten up other cables ? an after market fireproof throttle cable from Patrick motor sports was in stalled after I put in the 911 sc engine I kept the fuel injection. Ty-Wrap loosely to the other cables, or fabricate a custom bracket?if anybody knows any of this pls let me know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Installed my new TPS board from Dave Sprinkle. Instructions were great, parts fit perfectly, and the results appear to be solid. I like it when a plan comes together.

Didn't make it out to the shop till late afternoon, but I managed to get the engine bolted in the car......tomorrow I should be able to get everything hooked up to turn the key.
Was looking at tires, might try and get some mounted on the 16 X 7 Fuchs I bought last year and get them on the car before RRC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Jeff |
