I thought the scratch in the wheel was just an anomaly from the flash, but no - its a real scratch. Not sure how that happened. A little shoe polish (dye) should take care of the issue.

The horn button I have is 2", the hole in the wheel is 3". I haven't been able to find a 3" Porsche (or even a VW) horn button (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... may need to fabricate an adapter plate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Main concern right now is eliminating the buzzer and flashing brake light in the gauge.

you need a horn button to fit the Formuling France wheel you have. They are specific to that wheel and hard to find.

A common and quite correct braided ground strap is available at any FLAPS.

Yeah, I couldn't find one with sufficient gauge to match the stock style ground strap at the FLAPS. But, YMMV based on where you live. The one from Summit looks and fits really nice.

I was afraid of that. I guess that's why I got the wheel so cheeeep (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I kind of like the look of my inexpensive foam insert anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Thanks for the ID though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

I would make a round filler plate, then cut a hole to fit a common Momo horn button and fit the Momo horn button into that round filler plate

It was roasting hot here all day (I don't have AC), so went for a sunset drive to cool off.

I'm another one of those with d-jet starting issues. Kept flooding out (wad not sure what it was for a while because it was intermittant)
Disconnected the cold start valve and seems to be just fine. Now its time for a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

After cleaning 42 years off my longs, I gave them some fresh paint. I decided to go with stainless steel screws instead of rivets when replacing the rockers so I will examine them more often. At least they will not rust! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I didn't work on the 914 directly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I did however make some parts to sell that will help fund the near future repairs it needs.

I liked the exposed look of Felix's shifter in his race car so much that I did this to my car today.
Another one of my goofy ideas….

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) ... That's an excellent idea.

Thanks for posting this because I'm getting ready to reinstall the fiberglass rocker panels on the 'BB' soon. The holes in the sill are larger than normal and Mike Bellis sent me some extra-large rivets, but I think I'll go your route and get some #8 or #10 stainless screws to fasten them.

All I was able to do was reinstall the lower dash panel and carpets on Saturday. I managed to screw-up my lower back in the process though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

I'm hoping it feels better in the morning, else I'm not going to make it down to the Phoenix Club - dammit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Not so good idea? The stainless is higher up in the food chain so it will make the metal around the holes rust instead...use zinc coated plain steel screws or plastic rivets.
