I changed the second hardest gasket on the car. Turbo to Manifold gasket. The old one was aluminum the new one is copper. Use copper gaskets turbo guys. Just make sure you anneal it first so it will soften slightly.n I could hear a slight leak and boost was down 1-2 psi. This one is .042 thick. Make sure you get a copper gasket about this thickness is possible. Some are paper thin. Over time the aluminum unit melted slightly, enough to get real soft and blew out. It made for a great gasket while it lasted. Also stay away from the laminated type. These tend to blow out under boost. It'a PITA due to all the stuff that has to come off to get to the 4 nuts I needed to access.
The hardest gasket (on this car) it the exhaust manifold to head due to access. I installed the manifold with the motor out of the car with "special" wrenches I had to make. I then peened the nuts to the studs. The motor will have to come out to change this one. Lucky for me it's OK. In the pic you can see a few easy nuts to get to. I got the car rewired and installed new starter. Didn't really need the rewire but I wanted to simplify the system a little. Need to bleed the clutch tomorrow and take it for a shake down run... The side stripes look great, Mueller! Thanks....I cheated and only did one side yesterday due to the wind really kicking up. I don't like the placement of the "H" and will move everything back at least an inch on the other side and might redo the passenger side (kit came with 3 stripes!) |

Kept sanding the floor pans. They are almost ready for Ospho and epoxy. I got all the hinges lubed up and working well.

If I remember correctly, Mulholland were made by Mexican Boge. Boge has been making shocks in Mexico since the 1930's.

Just got back from my desert trip. Passed by the 'BB' numerous times while unloading Eileen. Have 2 doctor appointments on Monday, so I need to knuckle-down on Tuesday - new tires/wheels, rocker panels and a few other tasks to do.
