A long list of small parts I need to get the engine in good shape again; mostly items I can easily replace now with the engine out + parts I need to get the engine to run perfectly again.

A shortened list:

- pushrod tubes + O rings
- all sorts of gaskets
- new set high tension cables + dizzy parts
- etc.

When added up, it will set me back a few hundred euros.

If you were in the states I could provide all of that for next to nothing.

Millerwelds - Your car looks way better w/o that reflector panel on the back. Nice change (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Finally got them on to see the fit pretty tight even with rolled fenders. 225/60 16, but those Wil come off and 205/55's will go on soon. I do like the 16's

So stock tires should be 24.9" in diameter and these are 26. Too tall for sure but still look good.

Phil, stock tires on a '4' were 165/80-15 which are approx. 25.39" dia.

Your 205/55-16s should be approx. 24.88", - 2% difference.

At a speedo reading of 65 mph, your true speed will be approx. 63.68 mph.

The 225/60-16s are approx. 26.39", + 4.9% difference.

At a speedo reading of 65 mph, your true speed will be approx. 68.16 mph.

I recently upgraded from Michelin 195/60-15 to Kumho 195/65-15s. They do fill the wheel wells a little better and are closer to the stock tires.

They're 24.98" and - 1.2% difference.

At a speedo reading of 65 mph, my true speed is approx. 63.94 mph.

That's very nice of you. Sadly, I live near the place where it all began: just on the west side of the German - Dutch border. As so often, parts etc are more expensive near the factory plant than in other places around the world. E.g. the prices you have to pay for a 914. In the US they are a lot cheaper than here in Europe. Finding good specimen and selling them to Europe can be lucrative!

(Another reason to move to the US. I don't want to go into this any further before this turns into a political statement...)

New bumper pad off a parts car. Pounded out some dents in my bumper with a rubber hammer and a rag. New classic style plates and tags. Picked up some frames at the FLAPS.

That's a pretty nice parts car bumper pad!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) - but you have the next best thing. I need to build a dolly for when I refurbish the suspension systems on a few cars.

Now off of the jack stands, I played hookey from work on my birthday and went to my favorite restaurant for lunch, got a four wheel alignment then picked up my 914 blue print from the frame shop.

I am one happy 914 owner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Brings back memories from engineering classes and actually drawing diagrams on a drafting table. These CAD guys don't know how good they have it. I do appreciate not having my office cluttered with drawings now though.

Replaced my shaking transmission mount to 911 mount.
Ordered it last Tuesday afternoon and arrived the following day (Wednesday morning). What a blazing fast processed by Pelican Parts.

Took me only 1.5 hr for the replacement with several rest to reply various text messages from my basketball group.

You may experience more vibration transfer with those. I tried a set, and went back to stock because of that.

Remember, Joe, we live in California - the land of never-ending earthquakes. A little extra vibration doesn't bother us guys that much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yes I did feel more body vibration now. I was thinking of fixing or improving my issue on my 2nd gear grinding, shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Well didn't improve and now vibration appeared after installation. Good I didn't buy the wevo which is expensive and will make more harder and maybe more vibration.
