I was looking for some aluminum tubing to make a spacer for my girls basketball hoop and figured I'd cut apart a 914 push rod to see what size the ID was....
Reverse engineered a 911 hub this morning.... part number 911.341.605.4R Not 100% accurate since I modeled this one to be machined from billet and not cast like the original one. |

I drove it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) I even had it aligned yesterday (front was way off).
Tomorrow, I'm going to try autocrossing it! |

Picked the /6 up from the shop yesterday after having a new clutch and valve adjustment done. While the tranny was out I had them throw in the Wevo tranny mounts that I purchased from a member here several years ago. I switched the blue hard bushings for the black softer Wevo bushings. I went to the black based on what I read online. The black ones are not too stiff at all. I should have stayed with the blue bushings. Back of car feels much better. Trying to slow down the flow of oil leaks , I purchased Rennline upper valve covers and also some used 911SC aluminum lower valve covers. Hopefully the leaks are slowed down now. It was getting to the point where the oil was covering the transmission too much and attempting to detail the engine was pointless as it was covered the next drive.
Today, I drove it to Canepa's cars and coffee. What a great event. I hadn't been there in about a year and was even able to convince the Mrs. to break out here Bumblebee for the first time since New Years. Awesome cars at Canepa's today. About 50% of the cars there were Porsches. Check out the engines just sitting around......It made me even more excited for Monterey car week in August and Rennsport V in Sept. I don't know much about the 1962 ATS 2500, but it sure was pretty. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) And it was a hot day!98/108 real-feel. So oil Temps on a 45 minute drive ran up to @bout 235. Rarely drive it when it is this hot but my daughter insisted. Probably going to contact Chris Foley about his oil cooler set up for 2.0's |

I was going to finally take my car down to the BMV and get it registered. I've had it about month and have only driven it around the block. I started it up and right before i pulled out of the garage i thought " i should probably check the fuel lines". opened the lid and sure enough, I had a pinhole leak. spent the day sourcing and replacing the fuel lines. All good, no more leaks but registration will have to wait until next week

Mine seems insignificant to that!
I moved the engine latch pull: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i366.photobucket.com-10819-1436672435.1.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i366.photobucket.com-10819-1436672435.2.jpg) I mainly did that because with the rollcage, you had to open the door and reach under to pull the lid latch. And put rear trailing arm drop limiters on: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i366.photobucket.com-10819-1436672435.3.jpg) These make it so that when you jack up the car, the trailing arms dont droop so far you strain the CVs and my springs dont come out of the perches. If I did that again I'd use an old seatbelt and a couple of belt brackets. |

I had to move Westy and park it in the 'BB's spot today. We're having the rear house tented on Monday morning and the Westy was parked too close for the guys to drop the tarps. Didn't even get drive the 'BB' around the block (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Need to move some more Good news is, I'll have to move the 'BB' again on Monday, so I'll drive it to my hand doctor's appointment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Fab'd. up the Sheridan quarter panel support-rods. Don't forget to keep a spray bottle of water handy, fiberglass + mig welder heat don't mix

Tested Garrold's mom's service apron which arrived while I was prepping the car for the Peachstate PCA Concours today. Great product!
I think the 914 is ready. May take the '96 993 TT also but it has taken a back seat to the 914. Haven't even really prepped it. Will likely do Touring class for the 914 and Street for the TT. Indoors at Hennessy Porsche so at least we won't have the unbearable heat to deal with. Will pick up the new drop link bushings that I ordered while I'm there. |
