I got up early and went to Bruce Stone's "new" old G & R swap meet here. Sold some stuff, and bought a few things.

Came home and installed my new front bumper. How about an early front bumper for $10.00? TEN BUCKS????

I took my "new" 914 autocrossing yesterday, for the first time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Wasn't competitive, but had fun. And, just a bit of body roll.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolling.gif)

Posting a bit late:

We drove both of 'em in the 4th of July Parade along with the local air-cooled club.

Larmo dropped in to discuss the welding on of the brackets for the rear sway bar - then, after a few minutes of discussion ,............... screw the discussion....... I welded the brackets on to the underside of the car then the backing support plates in the trunk / the sway bar and drop links are off to the powder coater and plating shop in Anaheim / tomorrow is the completion of my 50 cal. ammo box center console w/ 914 glove box lock keyed to the ignition key and including a two-cup Nektar cup holder... see pix (wife is Nektar to 914 world) so to keep her treaking to the events, the two-cup holder is a must....

all in a day at the beach /

I have a complete heater system for a 914 for sale cheap... don't need it.

with the 996 or 993 or 911's one would never delete the HVAC / the beauty of a 914 / do what you want - it will only escalate in value.

Ammo box center console? ... can't wait to see that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Drove the 'BB' to my hand doctor's appt. this am - got some shots in the R. thumb. Apparently, I have a condition called trigger-finger (not the same thing as having an itchy trigger finger, kids) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

'BB' needs a bath, bad ... but we're conserving H2o (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Those wheels look great! Do you have a wide bodied car? Post pics of your car after installing these!

No. Fender lips rolled. I have a set of 16"x 6" on all fours now, and spacers in front and rear, so the 7" should fit. Tires in now are 205/55 16, which were standard on this rims in a 911 according to my mechanic. His 73 911 has that exact set in it now. He's putting my tires on Friday !!!

Cool! I have a set of 4 16x7 Fuchs. I was thinking of trying 205/55/16's all the way around. I'm not sure how much massaging my rear fenders will need though. I plan to use spacers on the fronts but not sure how thick they need to be.

Those wheels look great!

I finally got around to getting started on the car.
Completely disassembling the car in prep for media blasting.
Going to have to take it down to bare metal to see what I've got under there.

Discovered some rust in the driver side rocker panel and around the headlight supports.

I'm going to need to buy all new lenses all the way around. Tail lenses are cracked. Passenger side fell apart as I pulled it off the car. Sweet!

So far so good! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

Nice teener! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Stock color? Doesn't look like sepia brown in picture.

The glove box lock-set is installed in the lid of the ammo box and is keyed to my non-valet key (thanks to Jim H. for the wafer set to key it to..) and now I have fabricated my two hole cup holder - fabricated in light weight aircraft alloy - approved by Larmo as to welding quality... Bitch! - and soon off to the powder coater for a coat of satin black after a bead blast to even things out.

It is so subtle in fact, and nicely situated between the two seats that only a few saw it at the swap meet last weekend... or could give a hoot... my goal precisely...

As Closeeau said: The crooks never sleep and neither does Closeeau!
