I did a steering wheel change, and it is damn nice to have a padded steering wheel.
I always forget to take pictures of the goofy stuff I do. |

Finished the installation of front hood fuel door. Can you post pic of the under side . Who made this fuel door ? That door is a billet Mustang or F-150 door. The fuel door is attached to a plate that is attached to the underside of the hood with rare earth magnets. No adhesive used. I'll have to shoot a pic from inside the trunk, will add later. Lined up my headlights so the aren't crooked to the hood sight lines.
Stupid easy. Finally did it after my son started giving me crap for it. Been that way for years. Drove it after that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Getting ready for Okteenerfest. Pulled both rockers cleaned and repaired cracks. Adjusted the valves. Disappointed though looks like it's finally time for pans.

Got the LE ready for Okteenerfest. Swapped out the throttle body to eliminate a sticky throttle. Installed a new mirror, and loaded her up on a trailer to take her to the man and get new rear wheel bearings installed. Still need to tinker with the timing and see if I can get my stereo working.

While diagnosing a voltage regulator problem, I discovered a small fuel leak. A PO hadn't replaced the original fabric overbraid fuel lines when they put in the carb...plentry of dryness and cracking there.
After letting flamable things evaporate overnight, hoping to fire it up today and verify the fix. |

Hadn't driven it for a couple weeks , uncovered it, put in the switches for the heated seats, now I need to wire it to the fuse panel. Doubt I will need them for a while but I did see it was cold in Banner Elk yesterday!! Then took it for a drive and did just a bit of tuning. It's set a bit rich. Almost ready to pack for the Octeenerfest. Might get there a day early just do do a bit of sight seeing, anyone else be there wednesday?

Bought a new/old 1975 914 1.8L from California and it's being delivered today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
While we are not fans of the 1.8, we had to save the vehicle as the original owner painted it a fugly blue/green. It's original color is Palm Green Metalic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)!!! Attached thumbnail(s) |
