Lost my car key some where at Rennsport. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Luckily enough we had a family friend pick up a spare key from the house in San Jose and drive it out to the track. Kathy and I owe her big time for bailing us out. If you had one of these.....IIRC, you can pick one up at OSH Than you could call me to find where you hid it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) I've already ordered replacement blanks that I will have cut at OSH. Maybe while I am there I'll get the hide a key. I do seem to be there often. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) New blanks and key chain arrived. Drove the 914 to hardware store and had blanks cut. The new keys work great. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

drove it to work again today. Done nearly 1000kms in the last month commuting in it. Behaving nicely.
A couple of weeks ago I got to slap my new shifter together. So far it is amazing. Need to adjust the lever position but it is great to have spring centring between the shift planes. Now that I know it works I'll make it properly in ally and beaten up the interior a bit. Attached thumbnail(s) |

got it a new stable mate. sold the 77 930 and bought an 07 997. Porsche engineers have been busy and effective in that 30-year period. The new one is a better fit for what I need and I always have the six for when I want to kick ass.

Watched the BB get a mother nature bath yesterday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pat.gif)
Got a bit more done on the '68 BIG-BORE 912 motor last night. Had to change out the generator (the one that came with this motor) ... it had the wrong (flat) backing plate ('pie pan') and the belt pulleys were out of alignment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Ended up using the one from the '66 with the dished/recessed mounting. It's getting close to completion ... need to run the front J-pipes to a muffler shop to have some extensions welded on |
