Started digging into my failed clutch tube down the tunnel thing. It was confirmed today when a buddy pushed the clutch in to find out if the tube was moving at the end near the firewall.....moving slightly but it moved. Next I have to gut the interior, pull back the carpet and have at it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Nothing to see here...

This will become a 2056. I guess I should've asked if a bus engine will work in a 914?? I gotta believe the cases are all the same??

how does one deal with the oil dipstick on a bus case? The bus motor does not have a hole in the center of the top of the case for a dipstick

I'm digging into my new (to me) black '73 2.0. I took the seats out, removed the back seat pad, cleaned, vacuumed in and under EVERYTHING which probably hadn't EVER been out of the car, installed new old stock seat belts, installed Mark's seat adjuster handles, cleaned the seats, and put it all back together again. Installed a pair of his new cowl to fender front seals, rear window to engine lid seal, set the dwell with Forrest, tightened up the header pipes, tore the glovebox out and soaked/reformed it with wood blocks, and switched out the rear view mirror.

Now, I'm drinking a Ketel One vodka tonic. I feel like I deserve it.

Indirectly 914 related, I finally got around to cutting and fitting the final ceiling panel in the trailer (on Tuesday).

Still need to cut and install a section of angle to support it at the rear bulkhead and install the remaining ceiling lights

Was able to open the rear trunk which I was not able to check when I bought this 73 1.7 last Jan. 2 since the battery in there was a dead battery. Well I thought I find a hidden parts but at least the rear trunk looks like this.

Topped off the oil, waxed it, and drove along the coast. Stopped at my favorite beach-side coffee shop.
