I do quite a few events with those guys. They "sort of" accept the 914. I have to keep showing them all the parts on the car that have VW logos.

I really want to get a "VW Porsche" badge, but they are so expensive new and I can't find a used one.

Yes they are expensive. ...it the bad part of our hobby.
Cuda, is that your 996 on the track ,also which track as I don't recognize the back ground.

Yep, that's at Chuckwalla Raceway. Here's a larger version:

Thanks, I've not had the opportunity to run Chuckwalla.
Based on what I know, long drive past Palm Springs but fun track
I guess its like driving / towing to Buttonwillow.

Yep, a long drive out into the desert. And, if you don't stay in a camper at the track, you have to do the back-and forth drive twice each day. Nowhere within 50 miles to stay.

A very fun track though. 2.7 miles, 17 turns.

It took all day but it is done. My wife reminded me that I am 67 years old and need to quit doing this!

I disagree. My wife said something in a similar vein, like getting a newer car that does not need any repair. its a hobby, like collecting stamps, guns, electronics, etc. I just wish I had an acre and a big barn. No different than your wife collecting teaspoons or antique ceramic dolls.

Finally was warm enough out in the garage yesterday
to mount my new stainless bumper and "914" Rubber Top.
The fog light grills I bought from the Dealership in the 70's
and although dirty from storage, are new.

Now have to wait for warmer days to mount the new dash.

Thanks to a helping hand from Jim [lucky9146] today was stuff the motor day. .
Start and finish. . 90 minutes, now to hook everything up. .
This is the car that came from an Estate I listed 2 years ago. . It had a 2.2 S motor. . That is on the stand and it now has the correct number match Six motor. .
The car will be for sale shortly . . 74K miles and no rust. . I pulled the rockers and no issues. .

What's your opinion on the fit & finish of the stainless steel front bumper?

When everything in the garage is fighting you all day, just scream out an expletive, quit, and move on to a crafty project that is hard to mess up...hahaha

removed the factory door that were rusted out on the bottomsAttached Image

Installed some used rust free doors, rekeyed the door locks to match the ignition, want to install the tinted glass from the rusted doors using the 74 window regulators instead of the seeming weaker 71 regulators.
