I worked on the valve covers / hot tanked them then cleaned and painted / then stole one of my lovely wife's emory boards to buff off the PORSCHE lettering / the finish looks much beter than the reflections being shown in the photos,,,,, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Then helped Keith drop his motor yet again...... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-17273-1476651799_thumb.jpg) There is something other than the valve covers in that pic that could use an emory board (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

Got the new fuel pump installed a few weeks ago. Had to do some contorting under the car with to remove a kink in the line after installing it. Success!
Now there's a fuel smell. Probably yanked a hose loose, or the pump is leaking. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) |

Pulled apart the rest of the interior. Stripped out the 80's radio and wiring. Found some random coins from the 50's - 70's, pay stub from my grandfather's old business, and other random stuff.
Temporarily placed the carpet. Everything fit quite well. It's a 914rubber 10 piece, domestic loop kit. Before.. Nice Clay...! I cut it out before I had to do "the Freddy" - I still don't have the legs for that quite yet. The longs are good, a little surface rust on some other parts, but for the most part she's very workable. It's nice to have this view of it now and see what I've really have to get done and explore the history of the car a bit. She was hit on the r.r. at some point because the last half of the rear fender is yellow - it's originally an Irish Green car. Lots to do but a much better idea of what it's gonna take.

Drove up to Sky Valley which is the highest city in Georgia for a car show. Awesome fall like day to talk to many people about my 914.

Couldn't make the swap meet today (plus I spent all my money yesterday). So I removed and resealed the rear window with a 914rubber kit.
Then on my break USPS delivered (on a Sunday!?!) my sound deadener. So I spent the rest of the afternoon installing the deadener and the carpet kit. Looks SOOOO much better already. |

What was used to remove the seam sealer? I was trying a heat gun and putty knife. Got impatient and figured there was a better way. |

Busy weekend, only had a little bit of time after dinner tonight to play in the garage, so I got one stud replaced. I used left hand drill bits after milling the stud flat hoping it would loosen the stud, no luck.
