Car was parked and a little kid, not more than 8-9 walks to the back, and says "dad, it's a 4, not a 6"...
Told the dad he was raising his kid correctly... |

They treated the roads early this year, so the 914 went to winter storage. Always a sad day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Supposed to be 65 tomorrow and 75 for the Christmas weekend here- the 914 will get some exercise now that our past 3 day old spell and rain has passed- (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Yesterday was fabrication of an oil line cover to prevent rock chip damage in the wheelwell. I am routing lines the factory way so this is a necessary addition.
Also checked out linkage pieces, all brand shiny new... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |

Refurbed original 914-6 Weber carbs on PMO intakes . 40IDF I rebuilt them with the Pelican kits + new srings after having them ultrasonically cleaned to a perfection and the shafts are rock solid so I think I can get a decent tune on them once on the 3.0
I had Webcam regrind and harden the stock cams to a 20/21 grind and have re-curved my dizzy to match. If I can't make this thing sing, I am going to be somewhat disappointed............ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Finally started test fitting / assembling the new pistons and jugs. Wow those look awesome, very purdy! Are you going to 2056? What brand , JE? Kieth black? Thanks! Actually they're AA. I know there have been some quality issues in the past, but these look great. And I bought them through McMark, so he must be happy with what they're producing these days. They're replacing the P&Cs on the 2056 Mark built 10 years ago. The PO wasn't kind to this engine, se we needed to refresh the top end. |

It became an organ doner to save the lives of other 914s across the country...
I spent the day harvesting parts. A bit sad. But WAAAAAY better than a scrap yard! Attached thumbnail(s) |
