Put on the a pillar trim, refitted the ally vin plate on the same. Got 1 of the roof rubbers on, had to walk away as it was a pig of a job.

Also fitted sound dampening to the passenger side floor.

Just finished replacing the entire brake system. New master cylinder, hoses and lines, rebuilt calipers and pressure regulator from PMB. Actually, two new master cylinders, since the first one was defective.

Sanding runs in clearcoat. First time painter and bad lighting did not go well. Hoping I can I can fix it. Trial run yields an acceptable result.

The key I have found to controlling runs in the paint is to adjust your gun on a test panel before you dive right into it. Open the fluid control nearly wide open then start dialing it back 1/2 and 1/4 turns until you get about a 1 second test shot "football" fan that does not run on you. Be sure you are on a vertical test panel so gravity is working against you. Adjust the fan shape and pressure (gun specs) as you dial into it too.

Removed the [in the up position] headlight assemblies so they don't tear the new car cover (more rain coming tomorrow).

A few more pieces still need to be removed before I can get it into the body shop for the paint prep, so, until then ...

Makes me wonder if this is where Porsche got the idea for the shape for the 930 whale-tail (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Hey Mark - what cover did you get for the 914? My CoverKing is getting old and the only complaint I have is they don't make it with mirror pockets.

Hey Mike, not sure where my wife ordered them from, but it's a Covercraft, model# C15134RS (70~76 914 with 2 mirrors). As you can see from the pix, it's tailored to fit the 914 nicely (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

It comes with a radio antenna grommet, but I didn't want to cut a hole, so I took a small plastic butter tub, cut a hole in the lid and placed the tub (upside down) over the protruding antenna tip (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

Happy new year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's a little stiff but rides nicer than my 914. The springs have settled more and I'm going to dial up the ride height a little. Try to get it back to looking like this picture.
