Took off the front FG bumper and FG valence. Cleaned an polished down to the original paint. Threaded and mounted studs for the valence. Working on steel turn signal covers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

Replaced all the connectors on the motor controller, and took it for a fun drive. Sean got to drive it for a bit too, but nothing crazy. Yet.
I think I can burn rubber in first gear now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Now if I could figure out why the coolant pump is shutting down after 5 seconds and restarting.... |

Installed a bunch of 914Rubber, sprayed off about 1/8 in of pollen (since yesterday) and drove her. Had to stretch the new transaxle's legs a bit...

Rebuilt 901 last week, locked out first per Dr. Evil instructions then setup F N X Hf...aaawwww yeeeaaaahh!!!!
This week stripped my tired empi's Primed 3 times to get that nasty rough surface semi-smooth then tonight going to shoot some satin black rustoleum 7777. I'll sand and polish the lips this weekend. Oh the elbow grease I'm gonna use up this week. |

Yesterday I was at a guy's shop who has been working on 914s for at least 20 years. I mentioned that I needed an early rear valence. Five minutes later he handed me an original one in primer. $50.

Worked on the second generation of my starter relay mod to fit under the cover of the relay panel. The push switch will allow bumping of the starter with the key switch off. Still have to draw the wiring diagram and install the wiring.

Fixed the hinge and reinstall the rear trunk lid. Man those springs are tough to get back on. So I made my own tool to do it with. Much easier after that!
Welded in new supports for the pass. seat brackets and got a coat of paint on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) Installed the back glass. Didn't stick, so I removed it and bought another seal. I'll try again tomorrow.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Took her to town and back. No back glass, top off, windows down (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Tach and volt gauge both stopped working.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

Pulled the transmission , taking it to the rebuild clinic next weekend in Richmond. Transmission mounts were really bad! Clutch looks good, but leek from rear main I believe. So "while I am in there" will include new shift bushings, seals etc.
