OOOOOO Do we need to create a 914 cry room.
Steve is the most unpolitical apolitical person on the boards. Lighten up please. Motors are motors. Meatheads are meatheads. Steve drives a 914 6 that most will never drive, much less own. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) A real source of good true info here. Also. As to bumper stickers. I don't fly that flag. I had a beautiful,.. donation earned Wounded Warrior's blanket,... on my passenger seat for Susan's participation in a ride in a heat-delete 914 / and some dipstick scratched to bare metal on two panels when we stopped for a coffee.. Such is the state of politics today. Leave it out. 914World has no Cry Room. If it creates one on this forum, I'm out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Done. |

And by the way / Steve has saved me more than a grand on unnecessary idle pursuit due to his experience in a 6- conversion... oil lines and fittings needed or not needed, etc. it goes on and on.. The 6 engine is now a part of this process and today is real / not a discussion item..

Lots of wiring examination in the cabin up to the fuse box. 2 broken connections and a melted wire fixed.
Cleaned the cabin area of dust, lots more than i thought. Got told off for using the house vacuum instead of the garage one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) I sprayed the gauge face for the dash but the paint reacted, again. Back to bare metal and try again. I have the dash metal shell and fuse box panel to do aswell so might aswell do them all together. More bits arriving tomorrow. |

I discovered a flaw in the fan hub shaft due to shim wear of some sort.. so I pulled the fan and am now on a mission to fine a good used 11 blade fan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)

Finished wiring and fitting the rear lights. I finished the switch wiring and cleaned up to the ignition and column switch connections.
Measured up for carpet, can order that on Monday and work on to finish the interior. |

Just finished a laundry list of things for my six. I rebuilt the top end of the motor, added E cams and 30mm venturis to the carbs, fresh brake pads, new shift bushings, new stainless fuel lines from Tangerine, replaced old lap belts with stock seat belts, new rear shocks and a few other things. Now to get some break-in miles on the engine when the salt is off the roads!

Removed the bumpers to perform a mastectomy. Was very pleased to find only minimal surface rust in a few spots. Broke a lead for one of the license plate lights but other than that went smoothly.

Oil and filter change and tried out my new Bendpak scissors lift. I gotta figure out the proper working height and creeper/stool configuration. I was working off a creeper and the extra height was good but I was fighting the lift being in the way and spilled oil everywhere. It was better than jackstands just not $1800 better.

I'm helping my son paint his house down in San Clemente, and I hear something coming up the street that sounds exotic. You never know, I'm expecting a rice rocket, or motorcycle, I turn around to glance at what it is, and it's a 914! The guy goes by fast enough that I couldn't stop him to look at or talk to him. About 45 minutes later, I hear it again down the street. They had parked it. I hoof down there, and the guy says he autocrosses it. He has TWO 914s! His name is Sean, and he's new to the board too. It's pretty rare to see a 914 in our neck of the woods that you don't know the owner. Cool car:

They rotate if the resolution is to high. Click on the photo and it brings up another window with the correct rotation. I think it also has to do with posting from a phone.

Cool car: My wife told me she recently started noticing a silver one down by the park where she walks the dogs, so we took the dogs for a walk in that direction today. Don't know if the owner is on World or not (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ... I'll stop by there some time in the near future and see if I can find and talk with the owner. Why are my photos rotating? |

OK, I know you need a gasket on top of the tuna can but had a senior moment and forgot. Oil change part deux to fix the leak. Another opportunity to use my new lift (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) |
