I'm making a push to get my /6 conversion done for May, June at the latest. Today I pulled my engine so I could finish welding the mount in. then I tackled cutting off the relay board mounts and the blower fan mount. I want to try to get at least 2 full days into it a week, if I do I have a good chance of driving my 914 for the summer.
The money shot, as gorgeous as that dizzy is you can't see the F'in thing once it's in the car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) 2nd pic is the cut off relay board moults. not much but at least it's a (re-) start. Attached image(s) |

You can always fab a clear lexan engine lid (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)
Found the clutch conversion components out in the shed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

No I literally mean you can not see the dizzy even with the lid open. All you can see is a mess of snakes in the area, but not the dizzy. It's like the fan. I hate the red fan, but you can't see it so I'm not going to bother painting it. |

Hey Mark H. If you want to see that cute fan and other goodies after installation simply install an Carbon Fiber access hatch for your not-so-frequent tuneups to come in the future. You can then drool over the sexy dizzy while adjusting your shimp on the fan belt pulley and checking your timing,,..
One of the members here sells the kit very reasonably. You will thank him later.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Attached image(s) |

Painted out the trans and boxed up the rest of the parts (clear-coated heat- exchangers, re-painted Bursch exhaust heater, control flaps, speedo cable, throw out bearing, etc.) to go back to the mechanic for the install. Soon to be joined with Forrest's old 2.2L dual carb engine. Sir, are you still planning to use those 75/76 HE to former Forrest engine? |

Washed it. Also waxed it for the first time since I've owned it. Paint is a 10-footer now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Didn't have a lot of time to dick around with the stuck clutch cable today, but made some progress.
I inserted an inspection camera into the tunnel, but wasn't able to find where the front clevis is stuck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Since the cable showed evidence of fraying anyway, I ended up cutting it at the rear tunnel access hole and removed it and associated components from the firewall rearward. I really don't want to remove the shift lever mechanism but may need to if I can't snag the remaining piece of the cable (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Good thing - the cable tube is still securely attached in the tunnel and clear of any obstructions, as I planned to insert the hyd. hose through that tube (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Hey Euro: I need some daily stats on weather in Payson. We are now looking down in the outlands of Scottsdale for acreage. Cali sucks.
Anyway, today I finished my oil system with all 12AN SS braided lines connecting to original 914-6 oil lines for the tank, etc. I am checking all with a pressure test prior to insertion of the mill on Friday. I am awaiting Perry's fabrication of the wiring harness so that will be the final piece of the puzzle to get to an initial fire up and breakin - if all goes well. My goal is to have a 6-car I can drive as I did the 2.2L 4. Start it up, warm it up and drive. No pamper in the hamper here. I have owned too many Porsches that had that plague cast upon its doors.... Much thanks to Rich Johnson and Perry Kiehl for continued support and perfect fit pieces along the way. Attached image(s) |

Received word that Seattle Speedometer finished recalibrating my speedo after going to 205/50/15s. Have used Buz in the past and he does good quality gauge work with fast turn around.
