Made this supersize 914-RS emblem tonight (30mm), I hope the requester still wants it, I'm only a month or so late making it. (not paid yet so he might have gone someplace else for one, that is what i get for being so slow)
I still need to deburr and polish it.... Anyway, shown with stock sized emblems for scale. (20mm) |

Fixed my alternator. I thought the shaft bearings were toast. Turns out the mounting bolt was way loose. I had to fabricate a new bolt added a few washers and it tightened right up. It's nice and solid now and doesn't rattle around any more. I'm happy I didn't have to replace it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Some day I'll be working on my car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I'm taking a break from welding and we'll start a side shifter conversion on Mike's new to him 72. First order of business, prep the side shifter going in. Come to find out the speedo drive is leaking like a sieve. So a little rebuild is in order. The wiper seal on the lower section is behind the washer/spacer. Back in business. Mike had the seals in his on site parts stash. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Don't pry against the inside threads. Very soft and fine aluminum. Get a longer pick. Mike pulled the new side shifter linkage from his 75. Then pulled the tail shifter linkage from his new 72. Engine is out. But we've decided we'll be doing while we're in their projects. Had to do some rearranging to make room to work on Mike' car. |

Stopped by Valco Oscar's and we headed up to Mike Schantz's 914 auction this morning. A lot of really nice parts were had for pretty good prices. The real cool score of the day for me was what appeared to be a NOS passenger-side SS 2.0L H/E (for $125.) that's needed for the '71's upgrade (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)... been searching for one of these for over a year.
Oscar acquired a a bunch of nice parts too, and a really cool looking '74 tub with a consistent rust patina - it's gonna make a nice rat-rod (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) ... I think Jeffery (914-7T3) got some pix of it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Removed the centres from the rear caliper pistons, they're off to the machinist tomorrow.
Fitted the new goodridge front Flexi pipes and started to run brake fluid through the front pipes. Painted the top dash pad with texture paint, came up better than I expected |

This is so KOOL, only cause it's me.
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Drove from the garage to my back door and back to the garage. But I drove her. I would like to put a big circle of concrete out there behind where Carerror is. |
