Does anyone find it interesting that people with cars OTHER than a 914 MUST be in the pics ??

Just got home from the ECR.

Small adventures are fun ! Bought a 914 on Friday in Boston, drove towards the ECR, busted a CV joint 10 miles from the site. Made it on the back of a flatbed.

Diagnosed the problem, with the invaluable help of Ed Morrow and others. Saturday morning, Ed shows up with a complete halfshaft and explains how to do the work, Tom Eberlein (sp?) has all the tools - and a cv gasket ! - and we get the work done.

Drove the ramble without a hitch, then put 350 miles on the car to return to Montreal.

Ralf Hartman was kind enough to ride herd for me practically to the border.

Great weekend.

Great pics Ed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Michel, that is what this BBS/Club is in existence for, to share the knowledge and help other teeners.

Glad you were able to participate in all of the fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Peggy and I got back to Plattsburgh around 2:30 after leaving Sturbridge at
9:30 AM. Michel Richard followed us in his newly acquired and repaired 914
all the way to Plattsburgh and then he drove in to Montreal. The trip back
was uneventful and the weather, although hot and humid, held out with plenty
of sunshine.

Peggy and I want to thank Michael Duquette and Dave Cafro for putting on a
great 7th ECR. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

The Inn was excellent, nice pool and even greater food and
drink. The banquet was super. And best of all, my wife won one of the
raffle prizes - a bench mounted engine stand. I could have really used one
last month. Peggy says she is going to mount it on the kitchen counter to
carve roasts! NOT! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

It was good to see everyone again, especially all of the "veterans", but
even better was that many, many new people attended. Several states were
represented, like North Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania,
Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey and Quebec, Canada. If I missed some, please
chime in!

Speaking of Quebec, I was awakened from an afternoon nap due to some noisy
diesel engine. Upon looking outside, I see a large flatbed with a lime
green 914 on the bed. It seems that Michel Richard bought a car in Boston
that very same day, and drove it straight to the ECR site. Unfortunately,
it broke down right in Sturbridge. Of course there were plenty of
"mechanics" around and with the help of Ed Morrow, (who lives about 20
minutes away), a spare CV joint was brought to the ECR site. Michel was
able to repair the damage and still make it to the start of the Ramble.

There were some really nice 914's attending, 22 in all. We also had 4 911's
join us. If you click on the below link, I posted about 90+ pictures of the
event. You will notice that some have titles, such as "I need names here
(xx)" If you know or are the owner of the subject in the picture, please
send me an email and give me your name(s). There were so many cars there, I
did not have the opportunity to match them to people. My apologies.

I hope that next years ECR will be so well attended and I look forward to
seeing you all again. Best wishes from Peggy and Ralf.
