I went over to The Racer's Group again today. They have an awesome 914-6 3.6 track car in their garage right now that I will photogragh tommorow.

I stayed to watch the drive up and run drag races.

Why doesn't anyone run their 914's on the strip?

914club drag racing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) 10 or more cars would be interesting wouldn't it?

Honda Civics were doing 14's all night long.

What's the time on a stock 914, again? 17-18?

Who cares if we're slow, it's dial in anyway.
Consistancy wins. Not speed.

VERY SAFE fun, unless you run a 9.5 sec motorcycle. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Saw more than one tonight.

The Bug-O-Rama drags were pretty unbelievable. Definitely inspiring.

Yes, some steel bodied Bug's can get into the 11's or better.

I like the sounds. When the tone is just right and your ear hairs stand out straight, tickling your brain. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)

Yep I can remember living on the southern edge of Sonoma a few miles away listening to the drags. I regret that I never went. I was too much into (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) back then to care.

Hi you all!

We have our final race in following saturday. Sunday there will be a test day for drag cars at the same track.
If my track car survive's the track race, we will make a drag racer out of it for sunday.
Car is 914 with 3.2 engine and close ratio gearbox.

-Mika-

ps. friend of mine with street bug did 9.8second pass last weekend, and yes it sounds really cool.

If you've never been to an NHRA event you must go.
It's insane!

The feeling come through the ground as the cars do their prerun burnouts, then the relative quiet as the cars stage and then the deafening roar and the pulsing of the ground begins as the lights turn green.

You've really gotta go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

1st. run
13.3 and 175.2km/h
Spinning the 1st. and hitted to rev limiter in second.
Street tires and wet clued track.

2nd run
found a cood rubbery place and car launched really hard for about 3meters then heard a loud bang from the gearbox.
It seems that the stub axle (or what it is called) from the gearbox side is broken.

Now it is time to put the car in the garage and start the rear end modifications.

I dont know if it was worth that, but it sure was fun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Next season i will have LSD so i hope that wouldn't happen again.
Saldo of this season was:
6 cv. joints
3 rear end's
pair of trailing arm's, and lots of cf panels.

you are never going to make a 901 last behind a 3,6 in drag racing service.
overhung 1st is a non-starter.

LSD is a decent idea, but you might as well get a spool. lighter, stronger, cheaper, unless you use a factory titanium part. head straight to a 930 box with the 935 spool...

Hi

Yes it is a 901.
I don't think i will be drag racing so much. I just needed to beat our clubs
"wannabe drag racer's" record and doing 13.3 was enough.

btw, the clucth axle was also in two pieces.
