Would like to repair the first gear. It crunches 1 out 10 times. And after reading other threads I want to fix it before it gets real ugly.

Any recomendations on where to go? I live in Long Beach.

1 in 10 ? i wish mine were that good...

oh well...

before you sign up for transmission repairs MAKE SURE your clutch is adjusted properly and the clutch tube in the tunnel is intact.

first gear is in the nosecone, so there are worse fixes ...

I know of a shop in Costa Mesa which is not that far. There are others here have had work done by him besides me. His name is Ray Stevens Porsche. He was a factory trained Porsche mechanic and been working on them for over 30 years. He's not cheap but he is good.
