I've read 2 tech articles on install and no one mentions wheel bearing grease. I know it needs it. When do you lube it up, after they are in the trailing arm before hub instal?

thanks in advance.

the bearings are self contained, they are suppose to be bomb proof for a gazillion miles or soemthing like that. once you bust them open, they're no good anymore (i think). so there's no need to grease them

How long do rear wheel bearings typically last? 100K, 150K, 200K? Mine are around the 100K mark with no obvious failure symptoms. For now at least. Oh, hell, why did I bring this up? Knock on wood. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Sorry, Sean, for this semi-hijack. At least it is somewhat related. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Good question - how long do they last. I have 280K miles with no known problems, one of the few things I've never touched on the car.

(My '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee is on it's 3rd set at 24k miles, total crap)
