Looks like heater hose (+ orange heat skin) being used for engine-to-tank oil line.
Some kind of weld going on at the bottom of the long, just where it ascends up into the engine bay.
Two large bolts under the floorboard, maybe some trick seat rails ?
Get a ppi !

Check set is missing. Some call it a jack donut but that's not it's function. It's used as a factory chassis fixture and check for center twist on the Celette. All that is left is a bent lower rail and some crappy weld beads. Get a PPI.

Right on Rick...I found these Check Sets real helpful in constructing the rolling dolly for the 914.
Specs+dimensions are found on the 914World home page, click 914 info. This 914 could have gone curb surfing in a fast right hander (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Jeff has the history correct ....

I bought it out of a tow yard in 0?... called it "Ol' Smokey" due to oil leaks.

Engine had been rebuilt (and maybe the tranny too.). They couldn't get it started. They forgot to hook up the CHT. Got it running and drove it twice ... once to a G&R Swap Meet and second time to SKline's house when I sold it to Scott.

Scott sold it to Dan Root. I remember Dan saying on the trip North, it was the strongest pulling 4 cyl he had ever driven.

Dan converted it to a /6 and sold it to Boxstr? ... Alan (HeadRage) bought it. Last time I saw the car was on the track at The Lone Pine Autocross. Alan and Arron were severely drunk driving the car at 2 AM on the track.

Alan had some problems with the car .. cylinder miss fire & oil leaks ... all fixed (I think by Henry @ Supertec) and he sold it to ??? to buy a lowrider (He lived in BakertuckyMexicodelNorte ya know).

Oh well .................
