Bahia is abit darker. Also not a 76 color. Leaning towards the Scarlet.

My two Malaga Red '75s look very similar, where the paint is applied a bit thinner in the engine compartment and old and faded elsewhere. Looking inside the cowl and around the door latch, it looks close to Malaga Red to me, and that color was available in 76 as well.

No raspberry color for 76. It could be a #98 or #99 special order color even for 76 Mark, but no way of knowing without the Karmann badge pic &/or COA. It's listed as a 1.7 - but obviously a 2.0 shown in the engine bay, but IRRC that air cleaner box top went to a smooth top for late 75 MY & 76 - not ribbed as shown - sooo.....???? Does it really matter? It matters to those of us who are interested in saving as many of the original raspberry cars as possible. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |
