This is my second 914 and it's very nice. I'm only selling it because I bought a 914 LE Creamsicle. It's garage kept the duration of the 8 years I've owned it and was my only car and daily driver for 5 years until I bought a second car. Engine has been completely rebuilt by local 914 specialist 'Chief' and made more powerful with the replacement of larger pistons and jugs. No rust underneath the car, nor in the floor pans. Even the typical, dreaded "hell hole" has no rust, nor the battery stand, just a little surface rust on the battery tray (typical and quick and easy repair/replacement, but still not bad as is). I have a detailed list of all mechanics serviced, documentation and receipts for everything available upon request (instead of filling up this space).
ORIGINAL PAINT COLOR: SCARLET RED (Porsche color code L31M) EVERY ORIGINAL FACTORY OPTION INCLUDED: - Rear Window Defroster - Full Center Console with Gauges - Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel - Leather Shift Boot - Dual Horns (currently disconnected) - Loop Carpeting - Middle Seat / Armrest - Center Storage Box - Fog Lights WORK/SERVICE/IMPROVEMENTS DONE: - /4 Engine completely rebuilt with OEM parts, new heads, pistons, valves, gaskets, etc. - Added larger pistons and jugs to engine for more horsepower. - Original fuel injection rebuilt - New air flow meter for fuel injection. - Transmission serviced. - New distributor. - New fuel pump. - Installed hot start (eliminates need for points) - Interior is in very nice shape. - Center console with all gauges (volt, oil temp, clock) in BEAUTIFUL condition. - All knobs in dash work and are in excellent shape. - Dash back in great shape. Front dash has cover. - Original leather wrapped steering wheel. - Factory carpet in great shape. - Original speaker grills. - Back pad in excellent shape. - Seats in good shape. They have a couple rips in the side that can easily be mended or be recovered. - Pop-up headlamps and factory option fog lights all work and in great condition. - Pop-up headlamp motors replaced. - Daytime running lenses, harder to find American tail lights (all red) and side markers all in great condition. - Targa hard top in excellent shape, no scratches, fading, etc. Still has original carpeting underneath. - Original factory wheels plus spare wheel. - Brand new BF Goodrich G-Force performance tires (I love these! I've bought three sets - second set brand new on the 914 and another one on my VW Jetta GLI VR6!) - Front and rear bumpers are in excellent shape. - Original side mirror in great shape. - Engine grille in great shape. - Larger (front) calipers on rear. - New starter - Fuel Injection serviced - New bearings - New crank shaft - New push rods - New gasket kit - New spark plugs - Replaced fan - New fan belt - New speedometer cable - New motor mounts - Replaced fly wheel - New larger oil cooler, cooler adapters, fittings, liners - New set of shifter bushings - New air filter - Replaced ignition coil - Replaced fuel pressure regulator - New fuel pump - Repainted wire harness to dual fuel relay - Cleaned all grounds to maintain harness under circuit block and relays Mechanical work done by a well-known experienced local Porsche mechanic and 914 authority 'Chief' at Pistons and Rotors, local 914 guru and well-known 914 World member 'Dr.' Phil Sparta (the Porsche doctor) know who had owned 18 914s and restored many, Overby's in Jacksonville, FL (exotic car dealer/shop) and Automobile Atlanta in Marietta, GA (914 specialists). I have receipts and documentation for all the new/rebuilt parts and services. One rear engine lid arm bracket needs to be re-attached. I don't know how to re-attach it as I've never removed the engine lid before. Paint is in good shape save a few flaws from being a daily driver for many years. Outside of car was repainted the same, original color once prior to my ownership. Inside of car is original paint. Car is sitting pretty in dry storage out of harmful elements. Very nice 914 more than reasonably priced and reduced to $10K Email: tuma_milhem@yahoo.com Call: 904-737-0287 Beautiful! Good-lookin' nose! BEAUTIFUL (impeccable) excellent condition front bumper! Notice chip in the paint at the edge of the bonnet. No rust (treated immediately after chipped), does not go to metal only to original paint and no dent. Just chipped from something that brushed against it. Quick and easy minor repair. Never got around to it. Scarlet Red (L31M) - my favorite red and beautiful on the 914! She's a BEAUT! Wheels have period-correct chrome surrounds seen on many early Porsches and VWs of the time. Just for more polished look. Pop on and pop off. Was going to sell separately as many VW owners like them, but not going to bother unless buyer doesn't want them. Notice Porsche decal on (both) sail fins. Many like them or put actual Porsche badge on each fin, but I didn't want to drill any holes. Can be removed if not desired. VERY NICE rear bumper. Taken care of very well. Even has the tow plug. |

VERY NICE rear bumper. Taken care of very well. Has tow plug as well.
Chrome tip added to original muffler. Just for looks. As you know, original muffler tip didn't protrude even to the end of the bumper and was barely visible. Added this just for polish looks. Two fitting screws (do not penetrate muffle tip) tighten to hold it in place. Looks nice, but if not wanted, can be removed with a couple turns of a screwdriver. Again, makes no holes in the original muffler tip. VERY NICE front bumper. Taken care of very well. You'll notice a small hole at the top of driver's fender just below the windshield frame. It was there when I bought the car and was (prior to me) treated with anti-rust solution. No rust in hole then nor now after the 8 years I've had the car. Hole does not go through the metal. Can simply be filled in and painted over to look new. Fender is completely original metal and solid all throughout. Body work on car was minimal as you can tell, it's very nice shape, so was going to save minor body work for last but never got around to it. Taken into consideration in reduced price. I know most of you guys can do your own body work and this is minimal cost and time, so my loss in price is your gain. All lights work and period-correct. Nice windshield PORSCHE decal (inside) with etched glass look. Can be removed if not desired, but looks really nice on car if wanted. Impeccably applied with no bubbles or misalignment - perfectly straight and centered. Of course, I did it myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Rare rear window defroster! Stickers have been removed. No residue left behind. |

Nice around chrome windshield trim, wipers and wiper sprayers.
Very nice under the bonnet. Inside paint in all car is ORIGINAL paint L31M. Outside was repainted original color L31M Black is from factory insulator pad and can be removed. Nice door panels. New period-correct window cranks (new steel handle and plastic surrounds), door latches work, not stiff like most. Both arm rests and driver's storage box has no blemishes. |

To the gentleman who sent me an email interested in the car, I tried to email you back but I got an automatic reply directing me to go to a link to send a request for you to accept my email, which I did. Not sure if it went through. Feel free to call me if you are having email trouble.

So some guy came by to look at it after calling me almost every day for over a week to come see it (our schedules didn't coincide). So he finally came over one evening around 9 PM to see it. He was like a kid in a candy store. He looked it over for an hour. I told him everything about it and his responses were simply "Ah-ha. Ah-ha. Ah-ha." He was so exited. Kind of like when I got my first 914.
Anyway, after looking at it for over an hour (with a little drool coming out of his mouth) and asking me lots of questions, he told me he wanted it. He asked if he could come by the next day to pick it up. "I'll bring cash, we can go to your bank, whatever you want." I said sure, that's fine and I will make myself available the next day (took off work) for him to come pick it up. Never heard from him again. I know, right? The two hanging tennis balls are markers for both cars to center them and let me know how far to go when pulling into the garage.
