I'm in for lunch and the Gettysburg tour - driving down from NY on Friday morning, so we aren't going to be able to make the AACA museum.

It'll be myself, my father and my 3 year old all together.

I was hoping to bring the teener, but winter just will not let go this year in Upstate NY, so it just isn't going to happen.

We'll try and catch up with the caravan somewhere along your route between the museum and the restaurant- anyone who is in mind messaging me a cell number?

***IMPORTANT***

We'll need a confirmed head count for Gettysburg by April 12th. Anybody joining up after April 12th will have to pay the higher entry fee to the park. Not a huge deal but, they set that date as the cutoff.

I'm confused as well. Unless Eric is getting us set for a guided tour, the park is free.
I've just confirmed as much through the NPS website for G'burg.

What are you planning Mr Shea?

If you are getting a liscenced tour guide, let me know. I know several of them.
Another thing to consider... The NPS site is a SMALL portion of the battlefield. You will start seeing historic markers for hospitals and g'burg skirmeshes even around our lunch stop in Abbotstown. By the time we cross rt 15 (still a few miles from the park) we will be in the "thick of it".

You can't see it all in an hour. The driving tour is considered a 2 hour drive, and that skips cemetery hill, Barlow and some other sites that add an extra hour. If you want to see the town, museums, visitors center, cyclorama (and it can be worth seeing) you can quickly consume a whole weekend.

I have spent a lot of time in the Burg, and have friends that work there. Give me some boundaries and I can set up a good, self guided and free tour.

I'm planning of taking my kids there maybe next weekend. I can do some scouting if you let me know what you want to see.

It's free for Zach because he goes in costume and they figure he belongs.

The driving tour is on public roads.
The fees are for if you get on one of the guided bus tours or a guided car tour.
There are charges for the visitor center and museums. But they can't charge you for driving on public roads. People live and work there.

I'm going into the museum as well.

I didn't plan to spend 3 hours there driving around the park. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I am looking for a teener ride on this run. Mine won't be completed and I would die having to follow the group in my Tacoma. Anyone have a seat open? I will buy lunch and libations.

Thanks

Edited for phone thumb syndrome

I will have a seat open in Betsy unless I pick up a whore on the way.

For Gettysburg - I'm only going to need 2 tickets - the 3 year old is free.

We also won't be needing tickets for the AACA museum.

Thanks!
