I am going to be in a parade on the Sunday after Thanksgiving here in Noblesville Indiana. I am looking for a convertible anything to ride in for the parade. Does anyone out there have a convertible that would be willing to come drive it that day for the parade? Of course the reason I am in the parade is that I just won a pageant 2 weekends ago. So I will be riding and of course waving (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It doesn't have to be a porsche, any convertible will do, unless of course you want to drive your porsche (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Anyway, I would be most appreciative to ANYONE that could help me out.
Thanks! Hubby would have driven his ....if his was running.

I've drove mine in a parade and a high school homecoming. It was a blast.

Thank you! I would think it would be great to get to drive your cars again one more time. A parade isn't so bad since you can drive with the top down and not be frozen from going 60 mph. It isn't a very long parade either, and doesn't start early in the morning like some do. And of course a sign can be put on the car saying that the club was helping me out by sponsoring the car! Hey at this point I will take whatever I can get! That is the closest thing I have gotten to an offer yet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I just can't sit on our Buick or our Saturn, but a Durango might work! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Are you offering? Problem with that is the fact that somehow he would have to get his non working car down here so it could be pulled by the durango. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So that won't work. I don't really want to walk and carry my sign in the parade so I really need to get a vehicle to ride on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hmmm....with a little bit of Duct Tape, JB Weld, some WD-40 and a whole buncha posterboard, I could put something together that looks like a teener....a little....it'll look like a convertible anyway.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Mrs P,

Have you considered calling the local car dealerships and
see if they would supply a ride for the parade? They could promote the dealership at the same time.

If I was not going to be out of town for that weekend, I would gladly have you sit on my targa bar for the parade.

Actually, if there was some way to work it out, I guess I could still supply my 'teener to you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I haven't had a chance to talk to any dealerships yet. I have been sick for the last few days (going to the doctor tonight and hoping it isn't strep throat) and with the kids around, it is quite hard to talk on the phone and sound respectable. So I thought I would try all you WONDERFUL guys! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well...calling the dealerships is on hold at the moment. My throat is so sore and tonsils are red and swollen. Does anyone have any connections at any dealerships that I could try when I can talk?

Or anyone out there MAYBE interested in doing the parade? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese?

When you are feeling better, try Ooley & Blackburn. I know a few CIR-PCA members who've bought cars there, as well as a few co-workers. If this parade is part of a community/charity event, perhaps they will be interested in helping out.

If you would give some more detail on the event, I'd be happy to contact them for you.

Thanks so much! At this point, I am desperate and will take whatever I can get, even if that means I am sitting on a blanket in the bed of a pickup truck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If I can't even get that, then it wasn't meant for me to do this parade and then I will just sit in warmth on Sunday and drink some coffee or something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

We are proud of you. You gals deserve high five's for hanging around this guy's club.

I entered a beauty pageant and won my division on November 7th. I hold the title of Indiana's Ultimate Woman 2004-2005. I used to do pageants as a teen and decided I wanted to get involved again. Kinda cheesey huh? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
