Take some measurements and do the math...I don't think you'll be able to fit the headlights like you'd like. Having said that, I think it's almost a challenge... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) The Vector solution is the solution. Question will be what headlights, and LEDs may be needed. Nice thing is LED lighting is pretty incredible these days. There's got to be something that is plain enough, as wide as a round H4, and not very tall. Ideally, it's a rectangle or has two round circles...and ideally it offers high/low beams. If my 914 wasn't so period correct, I'd be pretty interested in doing this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) I thought it was just me and weigart but ill order another straight jacket for horizontally-opposed |

Stop thinking 70s tech And go into the 80/90s but not any further You need pop down headlights Not pop up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) Thank you gerald weigart .vector automotive Something tells me he wasn't concerned about fix it tickets either If its good enough for andre agassi it should work for me This is the way of the future. Think aeromotive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) not automotive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) https://youtu.be/3WEhsS9ybwk I'm betting that headlight design was due to cost. $15 in parts for a car that was grossly over budget with hardly any buyers. Neat car and I applaud him for sticking with it. |

2016 Build Link
Halogen in the turn buckets, could upgrade to xenon in the turn buckets but not needed now that I have Upgraded to powerful LEDs in the bumper. (Not shown) I’m in line for one, and a rear. Even Though I did up this hood, two lightweight hoods would be very nice. |

The turn signal stock in the vector was out of a monte carlo or buick p.o.s. or something . so cheap and tacky . like a 2$ part Retail . not wholesale. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

This is the current iteration but it's not what I want for the finished product.

Here's an intresting headlight mod: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i721.photobucket.com-643-1362756933.1.jpg) looks good but will not pass DOT inspection in most states. Too Low. |

How in the world can anybody even THINK of deleting the pop up headlights on a 914??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
They are about the coolest thing on that classic. Point. If you don´t like them, get another car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) All the "conversions" really look like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) Sorry, but that´s my personal opinion. And I have never seen or heard of the pop ups not working. Unless it is a totally neglected piece of 914. Everythin else will fail first... Don´t mess with that rare classic! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Have a great 914 day. Arno |

Since my first car long ago was a "Bugeye" Sprite, having such pop-ups appear is nothing new to me, except I can feel the additional drag when cruising at Interstate speed.! Personally,
I prefer the stock look, but upgraded LED but I like the classic look of the car. I do think there is some cool stuff out there, but that's just me. |
