Aviaid Oil Systems is finishing up our 3 gallon dry sump tank; also using their in-tank oil heater, breather/ catch can, and filter stand.

Our friends Sung Kang and Erick (engine builder +tuner) dropped in for a look at the 8gtt progress. Sung is building a big displacement 6 cyl 240Z, and we are supplying various exhaust header components for their R+D. Sung also drives a 914/sb chev powered hot rod, I believe he toured with the last WCC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Nice Oil tank location, cool that you have room to put it there, I'd imagine there's a lot less plumbing that way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)
Keep it coming! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Just enough room there for a .250" piece of aluminum plate which will help keep oil tank damage to a minimum, in the event of a wayward axle (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Errant axles can wreak havoc alright. Lost a transmission in my 914 when a CV knocked the starter clean off the bell housing.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

This project continues to amaze!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Amazing work there Marty. You certainly have set the bar very high!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) By the way, where did you source the expanded metal. The one I've been able to source looks like yours but it appears to be a lighter gauge.
