A bit of of my range but these combo blinker/ headlight housing would be great as an auxiliary driving light. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm having a few sets of these 18ga. SS plates laser cut for use with these cool 914 headlights, which install into the previous front turn signal locations.
Since we are using Sheridan fiberglass body panels, when you slice the (faux) turn signal 'Pods from the top of the fenders you are left with a ¹/16" perimeter edge...which is not real sturdy to attach these light fixtures on.
The thin plates will be epoxied into place, then these new light assemblies* will have a sturdy foundation to sit on. Then I will add another support bracket inside the fender, in order to catch the stud/nut on the assembly.

Yeah thanks I saw that, that's where I got the address. When he mentioned "these cool 914 headlights" I thought that would be neat but what would I do for a blinker? Then I saw the website. I'd love to have these

May or may not use the front blinker, don't need 'em on the track; but very handy for short romps around the block, or short drive to the Petersen Museum for C+C (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

A 2/1 P/W ratio car on the street...

A "short romp around the block" will make all the animals in a 1/4-mile radius crazy!

What I WANT to know is how you are creating the 7k lbs. of down force that you're gonna need to hook up!

@technicalninja >> this is the APR Performance rear c/f wing that we chose for the job. Our own water-jet formed t6 .375" aluminum supports will capture the 1600 psi downforce (rated at 160mph) and send it downwards directly through the transaxle mounting frame. Front canards, and a totally sealed undercar tray with diffuser out back. The wing alone will never reach 7k psi of downforce, and I may never experience w/o/t in 6th gear on a long track; might let Patrick Long enjoy some seat time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

"No stall at 52 degrees" is HARD to believe!

BAD ASSED if it can do that...

I was joking, playing with you!

I DON"T believe you will EVER be able to apply WOT at ANY speed.

Unless,

You've created artificial gravity!

And, if you've accomplished that you're setting your sights too low...

Corky once built a twin turbo Cobra with a 351 as the base. The yellow car (my dad painted it).

He couldn't ever get it up to full boost.

By the time he had enough traction to hold WOT he was 160 MPH and running out of runway down at Kestral...

He was nearing 800 hp.

You're hunting 1100 in a lighter car!

I haven't had time to run through your whole thread, life has been busy/crappy.

What I've seen so far is the Ultimate 914 with master level workmanship. Everything is just exquisite!

COMPLETELY BAD ASSED!

@technicalninja Yessir Corky Bell ran a tight shop, and you were definitely in good Mentorship working for him. In the late '70s I think that we both had our business contacts printed in the back pages of Hugh MacInnes 'Turbochargers book (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Corky supplied us with various components when we were in the turbo kit era (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

The final 3" o/d exhaust system will exit through these housings; and coated in black Ceramic...same color is used throughout the entire exhaust system.

Those look interesting.

What sort of magic will you use to keep the fiberglass from degrading?

Exhaust tubes slip through them without touching?

I'd guess at full tilt that might see 6-800 degrees, maybe more.

How do you make it live?

@technicalninja it's not a big problem with temp, the exhaust exits the turbos at approx 1200°f and cool down somewhat heading towards the back bumper.
Coatings bring down the egt's too. Main design challenge is shoving twin 3" od compound/ mandrel formed tubes through a left and right maze of components AND a bunch of SS heatshields, all in
tight 914 rear confines !

This is a quick thumbnail I sketched up which shows a bit of goods I'm hauling around back there !
I have a crazy idea brewing up regarding better 'Packaging of the exhaust...and has been planted in my brain ever since RennSport7, viewing the 963 in the workshop with its rear bodywork removed.
Keep watching our progress here for my easy way around dealing with this heat.

These SS base plates just received for the 3DGAuto.com headlight assemblies.
Now to start laying out the outline for cutting the Sheridan "Turn signal" bucket area.
I have 4) extra pair if anyone is planning on running these headlights on their fiberglass bodywork (Sheridan, 914Rubber, GT Racing) style. Attached Image

Bill, I don't think that you will need these>> if you're using the oe steel fenders which already have a good flat base (perimeter edge) at the top of fender (light bucket area).
These new style headlight housings should drop right into place and sit correctly on the OE edges, even bolt into the oe metal bracket in there.

I have fiberglass flares and thought maybe the fronts are fiber too. Pick up the car tomorrow or Wednesday from dry ice blasting and coating for the underside so will check then!

LMK Bill...if the remaining fender structure is metal, you should have a 'Proper base already (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
