Hi,

my 914 6 engine has a ignition timing sticker for a 911 T - see pic attached. How does the correct one sticker for an early 1970 914 6 look like?

Best,
Mark

Since the engine IS a 2 liter 911T, that may very well be the original label.

I hate to suggest it, but AA still has some OE 6 stickers, well, last year they did anyway . . seems like they were around $15. . . they did NOT have the adhesive pad on the rear but I got some 3M double sided professional grade tape from a local Trophy maker shop. .
ps there real ones are printed on heavy foil, not gold colored paper like other repo's

Here's what I got from them. .

Hi,

This is a little strange. The engine was untouched and the car was parked in a garage approximately 20 years ago. Why should someone change just the sticker? Unlikely, but you never know what has happend before.

As my car spend all it's life in Germany - are there any ROW 914/6 here which do have 911T sticker instead of the 914 2000 sticker?

Thanks,
Mark

Maybe it's not a six engine. . . does the engine have the 640xxxx serial number by the oil breather outlet?? that's where six's numbers were factory stamped. . 911T would have the serial number up by the alter / fan housing. . .

What toolguy says.....
You may have a '68 or '69 T engine.

I have a German domestic 914-6 with the same 911 T timing sticker, imported to the US in the late 70's by the original owner with the COA original engine. I bought it from him. The timing sticker is very faded and a little hard to read, but appears to be original to the car. Engine #6400818, type 901/36.

This is interesting.

Is your sticker in the normal location, on the fan housing strap??

It is the matching engine to my /6 with a 640... number next to the breather. It was located above the fan. I will do a pic later on.

This could be explained by something as simple as a alternator repair were the strap was used from another engine. I have had 2 ROW cars and they both had the sticker I posted a picture of.
