I have a set of 6x16 for the front and 7x16 for the rear. Because of the different widths the same tire will be .8 inch different front to rear. Does anyone have any experience with this?

The tires that I want to buy are the Yokohama s drive and in the 205 tire size They have both 50 & 55 aspect ratios.

Some advise would be appreciated

I run a set of boxster 16" same widths with 205/55 and they are really tight but do fit. The rears are rolled a bit to help and needed spacers front and rear to be happy with the fit
What rims do you have?

Why stagger the rim width if you are not going to do the same with the tire width? Seems like it might look a little funny with the tires fitting differently front to rear. I say get the same size wheel all around or run 205 front/ 225 rear.

I followed the link but the tire calculator does not work. The other options work though.

I have Fuchs that these tires are going on.

205/55 and 225/50 both are the same height (diameter) and are only a little smaller than the original tires.
If you're looking for low profile, the 215/40 and 195/45 are nearly the same height.
To me that makes more sense than putting the same size tire on two different rim widths.

Tire rack recomends the following

205/50R16 for the 6x16 rim (Front)

205/45R16 for the 7x16 rim (rear)

The 225 just seems to be too big for the rear.

If you have stock fenders forget about 225s. Even 215s would probably require pulling the fenders a little bit.

IMO it would be smarter to use the exact same tire rather than a lower aspect tire in the rear.
If I was doing that I would use the same width rim.
Not saying you shouldn't do it, just that I would look for two 6s or 7s to make a matched set.

I value your input so I will go check Pellican for two 6 inch wide rims. I do have stock fenders and was planning on rolling them to make them fit.
