I pulled out the center console to make room for me legs. Also pulled out the heater lever so I essentially have a flat floor with the exception of the shifetr; closer to stock I guess.

I want to make a carpet piece for the center and have a nice shift boot and ring. I am not sure how this will all "bolt" down.

Looking for a clean setup, carpet, ring, boot. How is the factory setup? Rubber boot only or didi they have a leather bag?

Thinking of getting this ring to use but again not sure how it will come all together.

The boots I am seeing for sale are not that nice.

Any pics of what is out there and what you all have done?

No ring and 911SC boot just sits flat on top of the carpet.
SC boot - about $30.00
Renn-shift from J-west under boot - a lot more, but worth it.

Stock is just a rubber boot attached to the carpet.

Want to something more finished. Maybe bag over the rubber, no rubber,

...or nothing at all and just a 2" hole in carpet fitted around the swivel collar... hmm that would look naked..but clean. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

I made a bag/boot out of the same vinyl that I used on my dash. It looks pretty good on my rennshift with one of my 917 knobs on the top. I thought I had a pic of it somewhere but it looks like I don't. :-/

You could get some black leather and add a "ring-base" to your existing leather console piece.

This is basically how mine works - it's a stock 914 console boot, with the plastic ring holding it inside.
