(Gint @ Jun 17 2005, 08:43 PM) That's the nicest $400 914 I've ever seen!

Nice work, looks great.  GO out and drive before you forget what sleep is.  Baby yet?

thx! he's a very calm baby, which is what we deserve after our first one, who is basically a 2 1/2-year-old human wrecking ball.

Wow! I missed this topic when it got started so I just went throught the whole thing.

Congrats to you and your wife on your new addition!

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/drooley.gif) I am truly envious of your find for only $400. That is a real score, even with what you've put into the car. Looking very nice!

Nice find. Looks very original. Could you do us 75 owners a BIG favor and take a few pictures of all the vacuum hose placements?
Don't see many un-molested cars like this to use as a guide.
Thanks,
Shane

it's been a long time since i updated this thread, but it looks like we're finally down to the finishing touches. she goes in for bodywork and paint today.

i'm keeping it stock paint: nepal orange. also painting the rollbar/sail panels, valences and rocker covers body color as well.

yes, orange is good. the factory name is nepal orange though my wife calls it "napalm" orange. check tha blog for lots more photos. the guys are doing a super job with it. i brought the engine lid home to reassemble and the paint is like glass... not a speck or ripple anywhere. money well spent, or something (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

i haven't located a fabric that exactly matches. i think i'm going to opt for the gts le mans seats anyway, so originality is not a big deal. i bought some groovy 70s orange striped stuff (from 1978 ford model year) at sms auto fabrics, we'll see how it looks in a couple months when the seats are finished.

i made a mockup that should be close to what they'll look like.

start at the beginning to see what she looked like when i woke her from a 20 year slumber and hauled her out of a garage in portland.

with the arrival of my seats, the year and a half project is complete.

ok, now i'm officially done spending money! (really) and nobody's happier than me, except maybe my wife.
