I used two pieces of thin wall steel tubing. The washing soda grass the rust as it pulled off the inside of the tank and attaches to the steel
The photo shows how thick the washing soda crust gets

Yes, Arm & Hammer Washing soda. Makes the water a better conductor of electricity. Not baking soda

Started cleaning out the gas tank. I did this on 7 of 9 and it worked good.

I just added a second anode in the other hole. I have it outside running over night.

The tank behind the one I am cleaning is the one from the car. There is a large dent in it.

What a good idea. I've never seen another charger like that, except mine. I bought it new in 1986. I was really surprised, then again mine has lasted all these years there had to be more somewhere

We have that same one too from about the same time (before I was born haha). The thing is a tank-way better than all the newer one's I've used for start boosting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cool trick, I'm going to have to try that with my tractor gas tank which is super rusty inside.

Rick > you should get the history/ member# of this 'R Grüppe 9146; if you were to join them on their annual Treffen', you could be the official representative of our F Trüppe NARPs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
I'm sure that the designated R Grüppe club acceptance runs with that car...regardless of owners trading hands.
Of the very small 1960's production quantity of the acid dipped body 911R's built>> there are hundreds of these remaining today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Rick, any updates on the project? Will be neat to see the setup hung back in the 914.

I purchased one off ebay a few years ago. I never looked at. Just left it in the box. Turned out to have a giant mouse nest inside and the top was rusted out. I just made a deal on a factory tank yesterday. so the 6 is getting the tank I wanted it to have.

But Ben's tanks are a great option and we are lucky he invests the time to do this.

Me and Clay made a swap deal. I wanted a factory tank and he has been wanting a Ben tank for his red car. Worked slick.
