[RANT]
Wed the 17th i ordered a Mallory Unilite distributor, along with plug wires, and an oil pressure relocation kit from supplier "A" . Minutes after I ordered i had an email confirmation saying that "A" had logged my order. In that email it had the list of items i ordered, and if any were to be delayed they would have a 'd' next to the item description. no where in the email was a 'd' . Fast forward today.... one week later. I call the 'shipping manager' at place "A" , asking when can i expect my package (christmas presents to myself....) he asks, 'what did you order?' i tell him mallor........ he says "vac or no vac" i say 'non....' he says, " were out of those" , i say, "My invoice says you arent, and if you are, it would have been nuce to get a fricken email saying that there was a delay!", he says "SORRY" (very short with me) i ask, when can i expect it.... "mid january" WTF (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) needless to say im kinda pissed. website/emails said it was instock...... not a notification that it wasnt.... WTF??? where else can i shop for a mallory unilite.....at "A"'s price? [/RANT] |

Sounds like the guy was sort of a dick to you. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/alfred.gif) But sometimes it is not thier fault, well, sometimes thier computer guys 'F' it up and don't get things updated correctly. I had that happen to me once. Showed a part at a certain price if you looked it up one way, another price if you looked it up another way. The supplier was GPR and Dave being the Awesome guy he is, sold me the tool at the lower price of course. Being a comptuer slave, I knew what the problem was and e-mailed him details on it. In that case even if Dave came back and said he needed to get higher price on it, I would have paid it because I would have been helping a friend to correct a web site error. But if you know Dave, he isn't like that and offered the part at his loss.
When the supplier does everything they can to make things right, they are worth keeping in your favorites/speed dial etc. It is when they start blowing you off that you can say (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) and go elsewhere. |

To be fair, Mallory has apparently been jerking everyone around on the non-vac dizzy for months. They keep promising delivery and not actually following through. Pretty much all of the retailers are affected by this. The story I got from a couple of retailers is they'd just get off the phone with Mallory, who swore up and down the parts would be there next week, so they didn't say anything to the customer, and they still weren't there in 6 weeks, so now the customer was pissed.
It would be nice if the retailers were handling this better, but it's not all their fault. Mallory is having serious problems somewhere in their supply chain, and they aren't handling it well, either. |

I had the same exact problem with my KB pistons. First they were like 2 months late with the pistons. Then they shipped the wrong ones (for the wrong stroke). I took the pistons in to get balanced because I got them in an unmarked box. The bill from the machine shop was like 17 bucks for the pistons. When I went to assemble the engine they didnt fit. I called "vendor A" and they gave me crap. They said I should assemble my engine 100% before taking my parts out to be machined... I said BULLSHIT and I got a 17 dollar credit (which I ironically used for a mallory).

You need the whole kit. You need to set the max advance and need the degree keys.

Mallory's are very hard to get at the present... I'm out too.
Its hard being in business in the VW world.. Most of us work out of our own pockets because its hard to get big time funds from banks and etc in this industry.... I have 60K worth of inventory behind me right now.... Its all being counted and lets say "prepared"........ |

I say, I cancelled it off the order and you guys mistakenly sent it to me. they say "You NEVER cancelled it!" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) omg! you wouldnt sell me springs for the dizzy because i wont purchase a distributor from you!" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) so now, they want me to ship it back and i eat the shipping (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) , sorry.... time for a credit card company interaction their problem, not mine, arguing with a customer is A1 in my book (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flipa.gif) gawd im pissed (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif) |

i've been a little disappointed with a couple of recent transactions with aircooled, as well. how hard is it to freaking communicate with your customers? but, my issues always resolved okay. talk to stephanie if you can -- she's been a big help to me.
they're still okay in my book, simply because stephanie stepped up and helped me out. wanna sell your extra dizzy? |

If they shipped by UPS or not, tell them to issue a "call tag" as the unit is ready and waiting to be picked up. Then call your credit card company and tell them that you were shipped a part you didn't order and you will not accept any "backcharge" for the item. Come on A-a-ron, you had to learn something in college besides self-abuse (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) |
