To keep on schedule, you may want to take 46/41 on the return trip and take more time to see it. Actually, I've driven this road many times and never stopped to see the JD shrine. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) I may have to join you. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

We'll be returning from Lancaster so I think a quick stop on the way south is the only chance.

I'd like to hook with someone or persons going to the WCC. I'm in Hercules, CA.
I can go the whole event. My key word is "flexible".

Option #1. I drive. I have a lifted Tacoma w/drop hitch. (Tow someone?) Bitchin' MP3 stereo and 1100W amp. 10" subs... I don't have to listen to loud music all the time but sometimes it helps. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) A/C is out right now. Split gas.

or...
Option #2. I ride w/someone. Split gas. Offer some mech skills and can bring some tools. Have Rhino GPS/radio for 2 way communication and nav.
Excellent "shmoozing" skills if pulled down for speeding or... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

I don't have a place to crash yet but would like to keep costs to a minimum if rooming together works fer U. FYI, I'm not into boozing or drugs and understand that U must do what U must do (responsibly). (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

This is going to be great!!!!

At this time 9:38 am on Thursday I may have an empty tow dolly coming down. I have a car to pickup on the way back in Campbell, Ca.
I would like to leave the tow dolly in Gilroy, anyone there?? until I drive back up from PD and Bakersfield, @ May 2 or 3.

I didnt see you on the list of attendees....have you registered with Howard?

Looking forward to meeting another 914 owner... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Scott, that looks like it. I am going to bring GTS seats, and other stuff in the Jeep and the tow dolly to pickup a car on the way back.
Plus I am going over to Palm Desert after WCC then to Bakersfiled the the National Street Rod assoc. the following weekend.
Someday.
Jeff, I am buying the yellow car.

Don't count me out.
I just checked Howard's registration list and I'm listed (with wifey).
Don't understand the confusion.
Count me in on the caravan leaving the Bay Area heading south on 101.

Kevin,

Hearst is on highway 1. We are traveling on highway 101.

I might be persuaded to return home on the coast route, Hearst, Redwoods to Grants Pass, but it will mean one, maybe two, more nights on the road.

Craig is going on to Palm Desert so he will not be traveling home with us. We won't have a 914 Support Vehicle. Bring rabbit's foot, 4-leaf clover, etc.

1, 101, i'm all (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) . that sounds like fun jim. we'll have to see what al can do with regards to work. do you think the park service would frown on us using the driveway to the H.C. as our own private hill climb? i know of a couple of neat roads in eureka/ arcata/oreck.

There is a 914club member who works at the Hearst Castle. That is a all day thing and you have to get a reservation before going, don't always excpect to get to see it the day you go. Other than from the telescope at the lower reception area building.

Took the family there just yesterday - to Hearst Castle. Me to the wife, "let's drive home up rte 1. The map shows only 94 miles to Monterey. it should take only 2 hrs". Those 94 miles took damn near took three hours. Of course the Pontiac Montana just doesn't corner like a teener (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) If you decide to drive north up rte 1 better not have a deadline - just cruise and enjoy the road - you aren't going anywhere fast.

BTW - did have my 914club hat on. Didn't catch the attention of any employees thou

In and out burger is ajacent to the lot for the outlets, plenty of room there and on the road that parallels 101 next to the outlets, its a good place to meet if we can keep the shoppers on a short leash...Jim
