Here is a misquote from the 2nd chapter of Matthew, verse 1.

Now when the West Coast Classic 2005 came to pass in the days of Howard the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to the Hampton Inn in Camarillo.

If any of you long distance travellers need a small weld/fab repair before track day at Willow Springs, I'll proll'y have the shop open til Friday 3pm that week. We're right off the 5 near the 134 (Glendale) .

If you guys are headed to Vegas, then you must be headed across I-40 so you'll be travelling through Flagstaff. I'm hoping I'll make it to WCC2005 so I'll be happy to join the caravan. If I can't go then I'm for sure up for a lunch stop with the gang.

We can plan on lunch in Flagstaff. I was actually planning on contacting the guys in Flag to try to make some arrangements.

Hopefully we'll have some others join up in Albuquerque the night before we leave for Vegas.

Here's the plan for anyone wishing to join the southern caravan:

We are leaving Albuquerque on Wednesday morning (20th) headed for Las Vegas. We'll be planning on lunch in Flagstaff and hope to pick up a couple more for the caravan.

We'll be leaving Vegas on Thursday morning after joining up with the NE group the night before.

Anyone wishing to arrive in Albuquerque on Tuesday night (19th) will be treated to free beer and grilled food at my house, as well as free lodging (we have lots of floor/couch space).

Please check in so we know you're coming. I know there have to be some from OK and TX. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

Rick is planning on leaving Vegas on Thursday morning.

Our schedule is based on the assumption that the NE caravan will likely form around him and the desire to have spare time built into the trip for possible....ummm...mechanical displeasures.

I know that Vegas Racer had hoped you would join us. Just skip on Thursday too. Priorities... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

I have my vacation request signed and stamped. I can leave as early as Monday.
By Thursday I will be chomping at the bit. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/burnout.gif)

Chris - you are looking rather pale. I think you may have a fever too. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/icon8.gif)
Perhaps we should rush you to a 'special doctor' in California.

Rich & Joe - you guys make the call on the schedule.
Anytime you are ready to go is fine by me.

Anyone planning on treking from as far east as Cleveland? I'm thinking my car ought to be done by then...that'd be a blast. (or a pain in the ass...)

i might be coming from maryland with the 914, engine stuff is coming along nicely, i figure with a suby engine it would be like driving a newer car. the biggest concerns would be chassis, but most of those are easy to fix, the worst case thing would be a tranny cv problem but i will bring a spare cv.

I've got too many reasons not to go on Thursday...
1. had to pull strings to get into overlapping classes, tues & thurs. I miss an hour a week of a 3.5 hour class.
2. the extra cash to be out-of-town a whole day x2 'cause girls don't pay for crap.
3. the coed I wanted to bring (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
I can miss Mondays classes no problem.
So I'm a no go on Thursday.

Scott: you'd be making the longest trek. You'll be on the NE route and may (likely) be on your own until Ohio.

CptTripps: Looks like it's you and Scott until you can meet up with Rick.

Chris: That absolutely sucks! Please figure out another way. We want you with us for the assault on Ventura.

To Scott and Cpt: please take the chance. It's an adventure you won't regret. Once you hook up with another member, you'll have the mechanical back up you need.

Joe, Rich and other eastern Thursday guys - do you have your rooms booked at the Hampton or Days Inn? Either one is fine by me, but it would be more fun if all of us early folks were staying at the same place.

I haven't made reservations for Vegas.

Due to travel points, Days Inn would be better for me, but I'm willing to stay where ever 914RS is safe. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

Thanks for the concern.

You guys COULD hang out in Vegas for a day... or I could do Thurs after 3pm.

I'm sure VegasRacer would tour guide to the Dam or something (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Oh, and I'm for the Hampton, though there is more food next to Days Inn, according to Street Atlas '04.

okay i am tring to figure this out to be as safe and sure as possible. mapquest says its 40 hours of driving, i figure i am good for 24 hours with 4 hours of naps thrown in so in 1 day i can be about half way there. 914 rs you have a pm. i would not mind taking breaks at where ever i can meet up with someone. i would just need to get to their place 4 to 8 hours before they leave. but that adds lots of time to the trip.

so 914 rs when do you plan on leaving NM, if its wed, i could be there to leave with you but crash tues night. if it is tues pm i could still do it but i would be a zombie.

still planning this out but tring to make plans to meet up. check back for updates.

If you want to swing through Cleveland, you could crash here on Day #1?

Even if I don't make it, (Car SHOULD be ready) Fell free to use my place as a stop. I've got spare rooms.
