I'm would think some of this stuff could be gotten elsewhere for a better price., like the trans and engine?
Just would have to know what pieces of the puzzle I would need to purchase from them, and what not. Not sure on all of it. Some of it would probably be favorable to get from them. |

Total $20695 .....Damn The LS3 engine is $6500 from GM shipped for the 430HP and $500 more for the hot cam 480 engine. The ECU and wiring harness from GM is $1100. If you can't do it yourself I guess thats the price you have to pay. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) that $21K seems pretty high. If you're looking for a monster though, that's one way to get it done!
Just a tip...from experience: Get the tub in order 100% before you buy ANYTHING. It's a TON easier to make sure that you're starting with something that'll hold up to the increased HP, than to buy a bunch of parts and then wonder if it'll all work out. Just my .02 |

QUOTE $750 GPS speedometer upgrade (do I really need this??) Holy Crap! I'll sell you one for $100! I just use one of my old droid phones and a free app called "Torque". It even logs GPS data and accelerations. I use another spare droid phone as my garage entertainment unit :-) |

Does the Boxster S trans have cable driven speedometer? No provision for speedo at all. I'm running a magnet ring and hall sensor. I wonder if that is what I already have with the Tachometer, as there is a magnet on the axle? |

Nothing against the kit manufacturers but IMHO this is the route I would take.
Cheapest solution- purchase a completed LS conversion. Put a kit together- some estimates. Motor- As Bigkat said- cheaper new from GM. Or just buy one off CL, or purchase a wrecked Camaro. 3000-5000$ Make sure you get the TB and Computer, exhaust manifolds, air filter. The Intake & TB gets mounted backwards with the air filter vented into the trunk as example. Adapter and clutch @ 1000$ from KEP Engine bar- 200$ from the kit guys Transaxle relocating offsets- 20$ worth of metal, drilled. Lengthen Shifter- 5$ in parts, DIY weld. Plastic Overflow tank - 10$ Ebay Aluminum expansion tank - 40$ Jegs/Summit/Dedenbear. Electric Water Pump- 250$/Dedenbear Toy-Jet water manifold (replace the water pump)- 250$ Yellow stripe hoses- 80$ NAPA Radiator- 180$ - Ebay Fans- 60$ Ebay Hose transitions - 30$ from Jags that run. High torque starter- 200$ Ebay GPS Speedo- 170$- Speedhut Do your research, read as many threads as you can, go look at some completed cars. troll the classifieds for conversion parts. Save some money! Have fun. |

This is without the clutch Kit. You can use a stock Porsche one at $650 or the Kennedy one at $950. You can get all of the water pump fittings from Meziere and the remote pump. This will be almost $1000. Stuff adds up fast. Makes keeping the Subaru engine look better. If I was you I'd spend about $1000 and just put a Subaru transaxle in your car. It will feel like a different car with this. Bob |
