Happy 917 day, It brought victories home for Porsche from the Interseries, Europe, Can Am, North America, 24 hour victories , a Can Am tribute 914, and a gearhead movie by Steve McQueen...just to mention a few.
Kudos to the factory under Piech's watch for making this happen, and to todays custodians of these cars for bringing the 917s out to play.
I know many of you have some pics...Please post 'em up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Top pic, short straight at Riverside between 6 and 7 . Great archives Kelty !


That was a great section of track; downhill into a sharp left entry at 7 and then a 90 degree right at the exit. Lots of mixing it up for position. In contrast, Donohue just went zip...zip...done. That 917 could just square off a corner using it's awesome power like it was on a slot car track.
