Thought I would post the Driving Video Link again as I think it got a little buried.
Some had asked for another one so here it is. The back story here is I didn't know my buddy was doing this one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) https://youtu.be/a7eXwdeXHfY (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Like I said a couple posts back, still some little things I want to get done but to your question of "What's next". This little '78 SC showed up in the middle of the 914 project, almost 2 years ago. I rebuilt the engine, did shocks and struts, and turbo tie rods, plus a few other things. Then I went on to focus on the 914, and left it and a large list of things to do on it, so I plan to get going on that list soon. I hope..... SC drives really nice! Trying to make it up to Carlsbad C&C in the not to distant future and we can catch up then! That '78 would be an awesome basis for a backdate hot rod. Problem is it is in pretty nice shape - almost too nice to cut up.

Yes, the car is very original with the exception of the crappy repaint that everybody seems to say "looks fine just drive it and enjoy". Don't think I have it in me to do a back date anyway. Sure is a fun car to drive in a much different way than the 914-6 is a fun car to drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Want to finish up the Griffiths AC install and get it charged. Looking forward to that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) Here is the engine. |

Always wanted to have this cool wheel stud look on my car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)
Posted this separate thread below looking for help finding them as I had searched a lot and could not locate them! http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=331599 One suggestion was PMB Eric Shay who I called today and it just so happens he is in Europe for a couple weeks. Learned they do not carry them and did not know where to get them so I told them SwayAWay based on the wonderful response I got to the thread I posted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) SwayAWay knowledgeable person is also out of town so I will work that angle. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Today I got these steel nuts from my friend Toolguy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) Cleaning them up now. Soon as I figure out what stud length to get, I will order some. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

I only find steel lugs on their site unless they don't think the 914 needs to be even liter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Rennline makes them. Not sure you mean Rennline makes bullet nosed studs or the titanium nuts? Rennline appears to only sell "thread in" studs and not the "press in" studs that I am looking for. At least according to their site. Will likely stay with the steel nuts. Will be going to SwayAWay for studs as soon as I nail down the correct length. Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Another great Cars and coffee this morning!
Superb real 427 Cobra was there! Guy that owns the Cobra also brought the perfect 959 in front of it. Must be nice. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |
