So, I have decided to go a different route with the car and I need to prep for a move in the hopefully soon future...
You can see the details and images in the 4th page of my build thread in my signature. Engine was built on a budget but by far a "cheap" one. DRD built 74' 3 bolt heads, GA case -lined up by local reputable shop along with Crank inspected and polished, AA I beam rods, Web Cam & lifters, Dual Italian Webers... Fat shroud and 11 blade 911 fan. Engine will come with a 4-2-1 European style stub piped header w/ supertrapp I think it resembles what CFR sells, but I don't know who the mfg is. Would like to get $4K but would accept reasonable offers. I can promise you, you couldn't build one for this price. This engine has less than an hour of run time. Was run long enough to break in the cam and tune the carb... I thought the car would be done before now... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

Figured I post the common asked questions so far
What HP does it make? Engine has not been on a dyno but estimated 130@crank estimated from DRD who also spec'd out the valve train. Any leaks? Not at this time, though during initial fire up, I had a small leak where I didn't tighten down on a crush washer quite enough. Have the valves been adjusted since initial run? Yes, I adjusted them after cam break in and checked them before installing the engine in the car. Spare cork gasket sets go with the engine for future valve adjustments since I have them. Oil cooling? Remote mounted, thermostatically controlled. You can mount it on the engine crossbar or on the firewall since you don't have the front shroud there. Ignition is a Pertronix flame thrower |

It sounds like a really good deal. If I weren't trying to reduce the amount of 'stuff' I already have, I'd be all over this.

Hey, can you tell me a little about the custom diz... If I understand your build thread, it is a regular diz, just with a sensor added for the EFI system your were planning to use. Is that right? Was it running stock EFI when you broke it in? And would an off-the-shelf diz work on this?

Was it running stock EFI when you broke it in? And would an off-the-shelf diz work on this? Sorry about the confusion. This engine is running on Carbs with a new Pertronix Flame thrower dizzy on it. I have the custom dizzy on a different engine right now along with a SDS injection setup. I never got far enough with the MegaSquirt to put it on this engine. The engine comes with everything needed to run, minus the oil cooler. I kept the cooler mounted in the car. Thanks, Thomas |

The heads alone are worth well over $1,000... Lots of tire kickers... No one willing to pull the trigger yet. Thomas |
