There is a guy named Art Zapf who produced a color laminated diagram www.zapfenterprises.com/ . I got one about a year ago. he mentioned that he only had 1 or two left. It is the version printed over a 914-6 image. Around $100.00

He also has some black and white factory diagram copies - $25.00 I think.

The laminated diagram is ok. Colors are just OK and the clarity is just OK. I suspect that he had some other versions that were better, but these were out of print at the time.

The factory diagrams are great - perfect clarity and a bit more detail.

I am very happy to have both. Suggest that for the $25.00 bucks that you get the factory diagrams in addition (or maybe instead of) the last remaining color prints.

There are several threads on the net that show more detail for certain portions of the system (pin numbers on relays and such). You can get lucky and find detail on what you are looking for sometimes. Good luck.

FYI, the Porsche factory diagram was never labeled. The Art Zapf is the ONLY one that has the information on it.

I think that the color one that I got is not the best one. It is one printed over an image of a 914-6 (Art Show's class winning six from the 2012 parade). When I talked with him, he had none of the color ones that are shown on his site left.

He may have gotten some reprinted since then, but he did not sound inclined to do so when I spoke with him earlier this year.

If he has some of the B&W versions left they are excellent and all that you really need.

Art and I got together for lunch last year. I asked him about his wiring diagram. Based on his comments, plan on getting the black / white ones and that's if he has any left.

I have sent surfer a PM re this. I may be able to help him out. I just have to find my diagram - I packed it when I sold the last house and it is still backed after moving to our new (old) house.

I think Pelican may have the B&W ones on their Electric Diagrams page.

There is a six wiring diagram on the site but it is not very good - unclear and no wire color markings. Art's B&W has wire color codes on it.

If I recall correctly the Factory 914/6 technical introduction booklet has a color wiring diagram that is labeled.

They are kind of hard to find but do come up from time to time.

No, its only black and white, and without wire color indications.

i have art's earlier edition laminated full-color diagram - no shadow watermark image on it

maybe he included the watermark to discourage bootlegging?

(if memory serves, Art's first "color" diagram was B&W with the color names written on it) - maybe still have that one too

and, yes. the oem factory repair manual set, section 9, has color "current flow charts" - i have got my set about 1993 as a "no longer needed" discard from the Stevens Creek Porsche parts department

- both have been a godsend over the years -

whatever diagram you have, even if only the one in the Haynes book - - take it down to Kinko's et al and enlarge to table-top size on a giant copy machine; so you can actually read & discern the lines,

and make 2 copies, so you can write & color all over the first one

.

First thing I do with any wiring diagram. Make a copy so I can write all over it. I use a highlighter on the circuit in question and write test results where I found them.

If it helps, I have color Zapf diagram, it measures about 17 x 21. I can't remember the details of how I acquired it - its been years. Looking closely at it, I can see its actually 4 letter-sized pages carefully scotch taped together. Showing a little age, but totally usable, readable, etc.

I'd rather just fold it up and mail it. Its too big for any scanner I have access to. I suppose I could scan in four sections but not sure how much would be lost in translation.....

Art Zapf holds a copyright on his work gentlemen...we should not be copying his work. His website says they can still be purchased.

Jeff,
Thanks for reminding those who simply want to get free work from Art's efforts.
I'm sure if and when he finds out he's not going to be too happy with folks simply copying his work.
