In that case, the name fits perfectly. She can grind up a 1"X 2"X 6" chunk of red oak into very small splinters.

Scotty, Logan looks like a good find. Ain't it great to be adopted by an animal? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Curt, I missed this thread up until today. Let me be the 91st guy to say bless you for taking that little sweetie in. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pray.gif)

When Charles N. rescued that cat, I and many others ponied up a few sheckles for the good deed, and I don't even really like cats. Dogs on the other hand, WHOA NELLY, whole different deal. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Mahle looks like she could benefit from some advanced vet care. Let me be the 1st to say, if you decide to do that, and the price tag to give her what she needs is a little steep, post a paypal address, and I (and I suspect many others) will send her some $ faster than you can say "corrective surgery."

Wow Chris. Thanks for that awesome offer. She has already been to the vet and got a clean bill of health except for the limited use of the right front knee. The damage was from a long time ago and is only repairable with a complete knee replacement. The cost would run into the thousands with no gaurantees. Once again, thanks for that great offer.

Well, if she's getting around with no ill effects, it might not be worth the risk. Our last Dobie to go to the big park in the sky had a bad hind knee for years, and he was happy as a clam. The idea of risking his life for a potential improvement never made sense to us, so we never did it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)
On the other hand, if at some later point you decide it needs to be done, let us know. My offer will always stand. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

I would also paypal to see that she gets the medical care she needs. I'm a major furry kid person as we call them (we don't refer to them as dogs) they are kids. So I will be more than happy to make a donation to make sure she gets what she needs. What do you say all? Can't we spare a little to get her taken care of?

damn straight!!

if we can get Brad out of jail, and get new HDs for the server, we can help the dog with a bad leg...

however I also agree with aircooledboy:

my parents have had a dashound for about 12 years, they got her from the vet, because the previous owner didn't want to pay for a full hip replacement, so the doc patched her up, and my parents paid the bill, and that dog has been the happiest thing... she just can't jump down off the couch(which she gets scolded for being on anyway (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) )

if she can get around fine, and doesn't hurt her, I say spoil the hell out of her otherwise... and save the surgery for if it ever DOES become a real issue... and we'll be happy to pitch in!!

Fiid.

We just lost our Beagle day before yesterday (heart probs & old age). Can you tell me more about Beagle Rescue? We've had beagles since my sister & I were kids, and when I get ready to get my sister another dog, I'd like to get another beagle.

Congrats on your new pal!

"Miss" is cute!

You can always call her "Tripod"
or "Tres" (Spanish for 3, pronounced "trace")

A relative of mine had a dog that was completely missing a leg. I nicknamed him Tripod. An interesting thing this dog would do: He would always chew one leg off of any plastic animal toys the kids left laying around. Struck us as funny, but fascinating. Guess he thought the other animals needed to be like him.
