Both were 74s. The blue one had a sticker that said "11/73" as the 'born' date. And since they are only 16 vins apart, I'd assume that's probably correct.

Another thing I found interesting and forgot to mention. The blue car, when I took the dash out, had orange under it. This could suggest that they were both orange at one point. the paint badge was rusted out, so there is no telling...

I've seen lots of cars with different color dashes. Doesn't mean it was repainted.

If your going back I would be interested in that orange car shift knob.

I know that ebay is getting stupid crazy prices for those..
but I don't want to sell it I want to use it.

mine had a cracked out piece (which I glued back in) on the bottom half inch.

They are closed on the weekends, but I'll call my 'guy' and see what he can do. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

After a day of rubbing leather conditioner on the dash, it looks brand new!

Anyone need the radio out of that orange car? $35!

If the radio had FM and looks like the face is clean (or will clean up) then I'd like to get the radio.

Thanks and just let me know.

I'll ask. If it's more than $100, I've got one I can sell you...

Tried that...no dice.

I even suggested that I give them...say...$500 to just 'have at' the car for a few hours..no dice there either.

O-Well. I think I'm going to start looking locally for a parts car. I'm about done though...but now I can see how you guys end up with so many. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

I think some people would rather be 'prefered' customers.
