Why would one step on a board knowing there is a 16d nail sticking out of it and hoping you miss the nail?

QUOTE(billh1963 @ Apr 29 2016, 05:28 AM) *

I've ordered several times from AA over the last few years (all new parts) and have only had one problem. I communicated with George directly and he took care of it.

Maybe I'm just lucky? Sorry I can't jump on the bashing bandwagon; but, no issues for me with AA. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm sure there are a lot of people who've had no problem, but that's not really the issue. People are people, make mistakes, it's inevitable. The measure of any vendor, friend, spouse, colleague, whatever, isn't what they're like when things are going well, but if they'll stand by you when things go wrong. If you haven't had a problem, great, but what's going to happen when there is one? That's the issue. A good vendor will get it fixed for you, a bad vendor will call you a liar or thief and tell you to go away. And that's what's happened with AA, people who've had problems have been told to take a hike, so we have. Hasn't happened to you yet? Great, good job. Will never happen to you? I hope you're right, but if there are other vendors why would you take that risk? You've been given a heads-up, but after that it's your call.

The $.04 customer service, fuch you thread (well, fuch me, thread)

I know what I posted wasn't bashing anyone.. I know full well when I'm
bashing someone.
I just stated what my experience was.. I didn't add any editorial comments.
Just the facts...

Collectively, I think we've given George and AA about 5K in free consulting. But all the consulting in the world won't help a business that isn't interested in changing.

George gave away about $1 mill in profit over the years so any suggestions going forward are really a lost cause. Thank goodness other vendors have stepped in and made AA unimportant to the 914 community.

I just placed my first order with AA minutes ago. They were the only ones with the Gemo clutch cable in stock for reasonable price. Before placing the order online, I called to confirm availability and when it will ship out.

The gentlemen I spoke with was polite, informative and helpful. I'll be sure to post how it goes; good or bad. Noob here trying to be objective.

Be the change you want to see! It starts with all of us!

"It starts with all of us!"

Yeah OK! AA hosed me twice years ago. Never again!! Receiving a stacked vacuum elbow that looked like it was made with a chunk of rubber and a screwdriver. It had a two HOLES in it. Did I mention it was a part for the vacuum system!!! I called to return it to get an exchange or my money back and was told that I must of damaged it during installation and my request was refused. Sucks for you. I will always spend my money elsewhere! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boid.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boid.gif)

QUOTE(Catherine at AutoAtlanta @ Apr 27 2016, 04:10 PM) *

We are pleased to announce that after a long awaited arrival, the Euro 914 Tail Light Lenses are finally here! We would like you all to know that we heard the feedback from the first run loud and clear. Please consider this second run a symbol of our deep desire to give our fellow 914 enthusiasts better products that they’d be proud of! With the expert help of our German engineer Juergen and 18 months of meticulous testing and re-testing , we have perfected them significantly. They are tougher, much more consistent, and they fit perfectly. We should know, we hand fit each pair before shipping them out! They could not be any closer to the original Hella, we did side by side comparisons at each stage of the creation of these vibrant works of art.

To celebrate the arrival of our colorful new Euro 914 Tail Light Lenses, the team at AutoAtlanta would like to give away a set of the perfect 914 Tail Light Lenses to a faithful member of the 914 community. Whether they are the red/clear USA lenses or our new amber/red/clear Euro lenses. Heres is all you need to do to participate!
Step 1: Go to our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AutomobileAtlanta, and “Like” us!
Step 2: Vote in our poll, “Red vs Euro 914 Tail Light Lenses”
Step 3: Comment with your name on this post

When we get 100 likes on our poll, we will choose one random winner through www.random.org! The winner will be randomly drawn from the participants of the poll.
When we get 500 likes on our poll, we will choose a second random winner through www.random.org! That winner will also be drawn randomly from the poll participants.

That’s all you have to do! Good Luck!

This poll will remain open until Friday, May 6th, 12:00 PM Eastern Time.

Catherine needs a dictionary to determine the difference between a give away and a contest.

But ya gotta hand it to her, give away lured me in too.

I take it that is the same white 914 in both pictures?

If so what kind of hack mechanic damaged the corner of the trunk while installing the Euro taillight version?

Is this a customers car? Did someone fess up to the damage if there is some?

I wonder if they would let me return the (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) s that I bought in the last group buy for the new and improved version... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Well, "Catherine" - can I exchange the lenses that you (and when I say you, I mean all of the yous that make up Catherine) have admitted were faulty for the new version at no cost?

Catherine? Catherine, are you there? Catherine, can you hear me? I think that we have lost our connection...

Ya, Google is my friend. Tried Pelican first then GPR. Even called Pelican who said Gemo cable wouldn't be in stock for at least another week. I'm a noob, not nuts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
