Well I've had the thing for 4 days and l already got the engine out. It was running ok but since it is going to be a driver I want to be able to know I can trust it. Pretty easy pull, can you tell me why the 914 has 4 bolts for the cvs and the squareback has 6. These were caked good.

I am going to stay with the type 3 for now, the case will not get split but I may put new p/c on given how inexpensive they are. We'll see what it looks like.

All this and I still have to pack for the move. WTF am I thinking (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

i know that house sale equity is burning a hole in your pocket.

Hopefully that will buy me a nice piece of property with an ocean and mountain view.

Forgot to add the engine pic last night.

Since I didn't have enough to do already I decided to pull the engine apart a bit and put new P/Cs and new heads, just stock stuff. The tin and shroud I just rattle canned, no time for powder coating this time.

I like how this engine looks

It's back in the car now, hook everything up and fire it up tomorrow.

Well yeah and a lot of Castrol super clean.

Hey Eric I may be in Eugene Sat. night/Sun for a quick stop to see some relatives. We'll be starting our journey north and won't have much time but I'll have the squareback and 914 in tow so if you want to say a quick hello let me know.

You coming thru Seattle?

I had a 64 SB that I rebuilt to a 1775 w/ dual carbs and a 69SB stocker. The 64 had a gas heater so I was a great ski car! I would ski all day and come back to the frozen car in the parking lot and just hit the switch- instantly warm.

Get some beauty rings for those rims, yikes it look funky.
