Sounds good, I was planning on contacting the city and the police department to let them know we would be coming through anyways.
Getting a permit would just make it that much more official. |

Maybe Brian (Wyvern here) will chime in. He may be able to help or guide us through the PCA system if we can get sanctioned. Oakhurst is in our region and he possibly could help more. maybe? I have invited him here. Since he owns a 914 maybe we could talk him into attending?

^^^ Hi Mike & Hello to all.
Brian Adkins here, I am the current VP of PCA Diablo Region (in transition / grooming process for next Prez) Proud 914 owner (other Porsches as well) I am very active in not only our events but also on in the Zone (I am Zone 7). I do understand some / most of the PCA "stuff" and also honestly understand it isn't for everyone and has its focus and "systems". If you needed a hosting Region or help with Zone I can at the very least give you info & intel I am also a restaurant consult for the largest foodservice distributor, work with / have at least contacts with restaurants, country clubs, hotels and prisons. Not wanting to promise and I am not an over-promiser ... but if I can be of help, to quote Mike maybe counsel give some info. |

Awesome!!
That reminds me I should contact the PCA Zone 7 Yosemite Region. Brian, is that something that maybe we should leave to you as Zone VP? I havent been involved in the Zone 7 Yosemite region in 10 years... Nice group of people back then. What sort of questions should we be asking? Where do we start? Who do we start with? Thanks for your help/involvement! |

Oh my, we have a coincidence of some magnitude. Are you the Brian Adkins that I hauled this Euro Horn butterfly all the way from Nevada for?

The biggest pro of going with PCA is indeed the insurance ... but then there are some events that then become difficult . Speed or Timed for speed events are a different insurance than a meeting or even what they call a "moving" event.
The Zone is really pushing for more multi Region events (as Parade and Treffin are just getting silly ... more $ and less people ... they actually get run of the town and all hotels are booked through then / the event) So events like CRAB that was just held or our Car Show is heavily cross marketed. Your exposure on PCA, Zone and region will certainly help spread the word .. Also the host region MAY be able to have you use their "Registration system" as that can be a button / widget pushed to all above. Yosemite Prez is Chuck Pierce . to be honest the best method I have found contacting him or anyone on the board (including Sandy) is to use their "contact us" section on their website Yosemite PCA - contact us Have an outline and have a plan (also not passing a bunch of work to someone else is a good plan) And present it as a "lets grow together" not just we want the money. I am on our DE team, and must tell you asking PCA and Dealers / sponsors ... "what do you want" , "what would you like to see" often gets you MUCH more that giving your $#s, sometimes something you haven't even thought of. |
