Well. Just started "gross" cleaning of the car. Will show the front trunk area first. It included the original Dunlop spare that has never touched the ground. The car had 145,000 miles on it and is in in readable condition. Top of the front shock towers still has the white factory grease on them! Just learned about that from the saddle colored one posted with 25,000 miles on it. This car is untouched. Original tool kit and tow hook. Now I've been told the original kit was a small black pouch but this one is the original one. Talked to the original owner to confirm. I will post numerous pictures of this area. Hopefully they will help

Steve G's / smg914 Sahara Biege 73 2L is a great reference for originality, but you'll also want to look at Dave Cheek's red 75 (76?) - since it would have the same build characteristics as your 75. You can probably PM Dave on here if you need more reference pix &/or have originality questions.

We all wish Dunlop would remake those great SP57 tires again!

IMHO - you'll be better off keeping all of this info in one topic - rather than several (this & Karmann plate, & your first one, etc.) - since then all of your info & feedback on same will be in one place.

BTW - the same detailing rule for PCA Concours applies to "factory grease" - as for the "factory gasket adhesive" on the door at your other thread. Our "grease rule" guidance for PCA Zone 8 here in SoCal/So NV/AZ (yours may be different up in WA) - is that too much &/or dirty grease gets gigged, but a thin film of clean clear grease is okay. Although even so, some overly anal judges will gig for any grease at all, so some competitors will wipe all mating & other greased components dry before the CdE judging, then re-lube afterwards (e.g.: at door & trunk latches & hinges, shocks & suspension components, etc.

We judge undercarriage for the "Full Concours Division" here in Zone 8 - in addition to the engine, interior, exterior & storage/trunks - while Street & Preservation Divs. only do the latter 4 areas, Wash-&-Shine is exterior & interior only (we also have Ubergang Div. for the new P-cars lacking access to engines, which leaves that off & only does the 3 other areas). Some of the PCA National Parade Concours Divisions also judge the undercarriage too.

Have fun with your new baby! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif)

Cheers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Wow....that's a great looking car!

This is what a low mileage original shock tower and unused spare alloy should look like.
