Wait a minute. Andy had a difficult time using the search feature? Roll the trucks. We have a headline! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Try searching for "Dude who's name i can't remember that has a silver 914" and see how far you get with the search ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Anyways, there is a story here and i think it may be time that story was told. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) Do tell............. |

C'mon, what's the story man? Here's the short version: 2009: Guy buys VIN tags and assorted parts (no engine) from a cut up and rusted out factory 914-6 for $3,950 2011: Guy starts posting here showing pictures of his "factory six" that clearly show a /4 tub with /6 parts 2014: Guy sells the car as a restored original /6 for $35,600 2016: Car is now for sale online for $75,000 and again represented as a restored but otherwise original /6 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

I would love to see the pics of the ad from 2014 and the current one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) The car hasn't changed between 2014 and 2016. In fact, the current Ad uses pictures from the 2014 Ad. The real juicy pictures are the ones from the 2009 pile of rust when compared to any of the ones that came later. Looks like the (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Also worth noting that the "before" pictures you see there of the Gold Metallic original car were taken *before* it was cut up for parts in 2009. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) |

Wrong rivets and the sticker looks suspect... I do not believe this is the gold car. Too many pics of the silver roller... |

I do not believe this is the gold car. You mean like silver factory paint under 40 years of dirt everywhere. Plus, my favorite, the very obvious signs of removed /4 engine mounts. But most importantly, read the 2009 Ad for the stash of parts carefully: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act...mp;viewid=12319 There was no gold car left to restore ... Sad part is that in his zombie 914-6 build thread, most of you turkeys were buttering him up. Someone should have called him out. Now there is a fake -6 out there and someone will get suckered.
People suck! |

I'd hate to be the owner of that 'original' 6. Not too much value in a fake.

It doesnt look like he ever (in his build thread) claimed it to be an original -6, though he certainly let everyone believe that. It was pretty obvious but at the price it sold in '14 its not too far out of range IMO, but it definitely is now... sucks for whoever bought it in 2014
