It doesnt look like he ever (in his build thread) claimed it to be an original -6

His 2nd post in his build thread:

VIN 9141430205

Looks like a pretty strong claim to me ...

I remember this thread and had a hinkie feeling something wasn't right about it all those years ago. I wondered then about the pics and no one said anything, so I thought there has to be a fountain of knowledge here that isn't acknowledging what I suspect,
the story:
It was too smooth.... too good to be true.

What's going on with the car today ? Is the current owner on the Forums and where is the previous owner ?

Basic Google search on

porsche 914-6 vin 9141430205

pulls this page up right away http://www.2040-cars.com/Porsche/914/zombie-914-6-284468/

You would hope that a potential buyer does a Google search on their soon to be ride, nothing from 914world in the results though?

But in all fairness, read post #49 on the thread. The guy who wrote it is sure one cynical pita.

Yeah, also check out Post #53 - 15% original, 85% fabrication. Looks like fabrication is the operative word.

That is BS. And I would assume ILLEGAL in CA as mentioned before.

And a '71 too...someone thinks they have a rare treasure. What they have is a nice 914-4 conversion car with a rare VIN number added to the tub.

I'm new enough here to be unsure of how this has been dealt with in the past, but I think someone with good evidence should drop a message at the 'complaint' tab on the page at the link in SixerJ's post.

If enough people are making a noise about it, the problem should take care of itself.

This looks like an intentional fraud by some (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif) jerk (disclaimer: I only joined the forum a couple of months ago, I don't know this member, and have no idea if he actually (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif) . Appears he might do, if he sold that zombie as the real thing, though)... If it is, the facts are out there. The new owner may look the car up by the VIN again, join the forum, or something.

He or she will see and sue, and we can (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) , (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif) , and feel good that maybe we helped.

Yepp, several of us suspected something fishy but at the time, it was his "dream car" that he built for himself and he wasn't trying to sell it.

Funny, when i added the 2009 Ad to the VIN database, i wrote:

According to several friends I have, people who proudly wear the banner you use as an avatar consider shit disturbing to be an occupational advantage...

Thanks for your service Mike. I hope you have overcome and healed from any and all of the trauma such service can involve.

Also, I am glad to have had an idea someone thought was useful, for once...

Is there a way Andy to link this thread to the other Black list thread so the two are intertwined ?

Just so it's easier to reference the thread which precipitated the need for the origination of that black list ?

I seem to recall a yellow "six" being built by a member here and the build thread stopped when someone pointed out the /4 engine mounts on his freshly painted "six" tub. I wonder what happened to that car...
